Heres another, 1960 GMC Custom. This is the day it was delivered. I have the 17.5 wheels and hubcaps for it.

Thanks. Its a small hand crank winch, bought this one from the original owner in Idaho. I have another one similar with a winch to pick up or pull up deer, its a 4x4 that was primarily used for hunting. I dont remember what this one was for ??

Thanks for the additions 60-66. Those '60-'61 tu tones are very sharp.Love the stance on the gold '60. Are the 17.5's going back on the GMC?

Thats the plan but that may be awhile with other projects coming first. Trying to find NOS or better chrome GMC caps for it.

Another one from the archives. This is the reason many 3/4 tons were sold for, carrying a camper during the booming economy years for the middle class.

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?

This 3/4 ton GMC got plenty of TLC. This is the calibur of vehicle the hobby needs. THese type of trucks rarely show up at your typical car show. IMO, the shortbed Chevy thing gets a little over done.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GMC-S...item5aef87c81c

Re: Where's the 3/4 ton love?

I have been photobombing the site since I joined but here is a good reason to post more.

My 1964 C20. 283 4 speed. 128k miles. Manual everything and radio delete. It lugged a camper for many years and then sat in the AZ sun and roasted with the camper in the back so it still has the original wood in the bed. It has never had major work done and everything works. The motor is strong. The clutch and tranny are excellent. It isn't my primary vehicle but I use it to go back and forth a few miles to the horse barn every day hauling feed and hay.

I picked up this original 65 C20 37000 mi. 327 4 SPEED I drove 427 miles home it felt like driving a new truck. PO had truck repainted in the early 80s very bad prep that allowed water between paint and r/f pillar causing rust. I have replaced pillar and rocker and now a new coat of paint. The gold 66 is my daily driver.

Ping me if you end up going and I can meet you there (or drive over with you if you are coming from North Scottsdale.) I live just off Dixileta between North Scottsdale Road and Pima Road.

A couple new pics. I found a local guy (about four miles from my house here in North Scottsdale) who does hand lettering and striping and I had him lay a sign I designed on the truck and then take most of it back off again.

I remember that one from CL. You barely beat me to it. I had contacted the seller and got some very poor pics. I saw the bad pillar/rocker and was concerned the rust might be more involved. A local board member was cool and checked it out for me, took some better pics, and I was making transport plans when apparently YOU bought it. I guess he who snoozes, loses.
It looks great, Lets see more pics! Go ahead, rub it in!

Here's mine, been working on it for 2 weeks straight. I'll post better pics, when she's closer to being done. I suppose a truck like this will never be done. Always something fun to do on these.

My Dad had purchased a 1965 C20 Custom with a 292/3 speed column shift, brand new early in 1965 before I was born in September of that same year. I camped in that Truck, I hunted in that Truck, I played in that truck......I grew up in that Truck.

Now I have a Son of my own and thought it was time for him to share/create similar memories, so I found a near exact copy of my Dad's Truck(C20 Base Model with a 292/3 speed column shift) and had it shipped from California to Virginia. I have been working on it the past couple of months and have loved every minute of it.
