Thanks guys. There's a little more fitting to do with the bumper, but it's close. WES

Well the air bags are touching the bump stops so time to cut them off...

Looking good.
It's time to temporarily hang one front fender to see where it sits.

Wes,... your lower bag "cups" are kind of a generic tall size.
You can easily shorten these to get more drop out of the front.
They are easy to remove because you can deflate the bag to un-bolt them.

Some even cup the lower a-arms and mount the bag directly to the a-arm.

Thank you lolife99. :) They go plenty low for me.. lol I am not trying to drag frame. I just want the ability to change ride heights if needed to keep my front tires from rubbing when I turn. ;) On another note, I just received these two boxes... I think there is going to be more progress soon... :metal: ;) :metal:

The only reason I suggest lowering the cup height,... is to help keep your ride height low, with the correct amount of air in the front bags.
You'll be surprised how high the front is.
It won't be as low a 4/6 drop.
And if you drive with less air the ride will be terrible.
Just my 2 cents,...

Re: I am getting excited about my Panel!!

lolife99, I didn't think about that. How much do you think I should cut off? I also do not want the bag rubbing on the pocket..

lolife99 08-07-2018 02:20 PM

Re: I am getting excited about my Panel!!

Personally I would cut as much as possible. I can’t remember the total height but it seems like somewhere between 1-5/8 to 2 inches total height when done.
You might have to mock up just the cup in the a-arm to see how much too tall it is.
The shorter the better in my opinion.
I have tubular a-arms and I still think the ride height is too tall.
Much more than my old 5.5/6 static drop.

Also what brand bags are you using?
You can usually go to their website and find the correct ride height.
Then you’ll need to remember the pressure to get them at that height,... or with Accuair, set your sensors at that height.
Also have your front end alignment done at that height.

Thanks guys! It is definitely going to be a show truck. I figured it is a good way to advertise my shop.. I figured there is going to be some polishing on my part in the future. It shouldn't be too bad on these because they are interior parts, and I think I will give them a good coat of wax. Anyway I am excited to see my vision come to life.. WES

Didn't know Dakota Digital did analog looking gauges, too. The polished copper is amazing. Totally outside the box.

Wait until they are done. They will very closely resemble the fleetside truck taillights, just a little larger. There will be about a 1/4" wide bezels that will be copper plated just like the rest of the chrome. WES

Can we get some pictures and details on you tail lights?
There was another post talking about options...

Been a while since I posted about my Panel. I have gone through an open heart surgery and have lost my wife after a long battle in the ICU at Oregon Health Science University Hospital. That just took all the life out of me for a long time. I am slowly coming back around and now am building a Tribute truck for Beth. Anyway, some of my copper plated parts came back today and I thought I would use this opportunity to revive this thread. So here are some pics! WES

Looks like they did an outstanding job on plating the parts. Good to see this thread back at the top.
