Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

 That pic above was when I lifted it up using 4 tie down straps.
I ended up using rafter hanger super hooks to lift it up further, for good.
I switched out the stock 100w x5 halogen bulbs and replaced with 6 high lumens CFL bulbs
Super cheap and much brighter.

Repainted the frame, cut out some of the middle (heaviest).
I still need to put the top sheet metal on it which will block/redirect the light down.

I wonder too.

I just happened to stop in and grab some pics + noticed the recent comments. Nothing has changed since last post. Still need to re-torque oil pan etc... install badges on fenders, get new shoes, a ground strap. She likes to diesel after warmed up - thinking taking to get dino'd. Other than that, doing great! Just washed it the other day actually.

Picked up some truck rally wheels with tires. Wheel covers fit nice. I'll add a couple pics if it doesn't snow first.

SSSHHHHHHHH don't jinx us quite yet. We're stilll ahead of where we were last year. Plus it's supposed to be in the 60s here next week. Nothing wrong with that! Nice to see you back on here!

:metal: Rides super smooth. Haven't done much since finishing restoration. Recently changed out the fuel pump (was leaking) and installed a larger inline filter directly after fuel tank. Haven't tracked it down yet - but guessing my original tank/sending unit disintegrated to rust (fuel gauge is inaccurate, needle bounces around too), filled filter with rust particles before carb, but destroyed fuel pump diaphragm? Started sucking rust from tank ever since I accidentally ran it dry once.

Not sure where all of my pictures went to. Could be the server they were on, I changed the address? I don't think I have access to the directory to fix. But I'll see about checking.

Found some wheels w/tires for my wheel covers. Finally, after sitting in a box for 8 long years! Feels good to be 'almost' finished.

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"

Thanks! Uncertain, but the wheel covers might not be exact year color. They have a golden bowtie in the middle, but I think they're supposed to be blue? Could use a little touch up paint.
