Rubber looks a little thick out back to me, though it would ride better.

Then do it, its your ride. I have a rubber rake now and the old timers like it around here. Rubber rake is good as long as it matches the look and width of the wheels.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

It won't be 305/50 .. I was planning 295/45

Just not a big fan of 40s. Some guys run 22's w/35's and that's cool .. some guys run 15" wheels. Just saying. I'm cool with whatever.

I wasn't meaning 'out back' as in tires .. I meant booty. Just messing around.

I went down to New Stalgia today and talked to my buddy Mitch. He mounted the tires on my Billet Specialties and we worked out a deal on the fronts. :metal:

Dad has had to have knee surgery and has been taking a break for a couple weeks. Things are slow on the truck, it's just that time of year I guess, plus my master bathroom is upside-down. .. It's some truck progress though! I was dying to see them on the truck. I realize not everyone will like the 295/45 but I really do. It adds just enough to make the wheelwells look a bit more stuffed and tucked. .. just my opinion

We're getting there. If any of you guys are in the market for wheels, let me know I can work some killer deals through NSW.

Nice to see the wheels mounted up. What size are you planning for the front?

That looks really good Chad, I'm wresting with either 295/40's or 295/45's for the rear of mine. Those wheels are awesome. Can't wait to see the fronts on.

Yeah, me either! :D I'm going to wait on the bed until we get the brake lines ran, and I still need to wrap up some stuff with the shocks, torq the UBolts, etc. It's getting really close though.

Dad is doing really well. He was up walking around yesterday like nothing ever happened. It was a Miniscus Tear, they repaired (?) it with a scope / day surgery type of thing. Pop's a fighter man, he doesn't like to be on his back for too long.

Thank You Keith. The 295/40 looks really good and if my truck was bagged that's probably what I would have ran, but .. being just a big static drop I wanted to fill the wheel wells a little bit. I think the 295/45 will 'tuck' more under the fender wells. I don't like to see the top of the tire when you stand beside the truck .. just me. My wheels are 6"BS too so it will offset that extra section width of my tires. I'm going to adjust the wheel wells and bed wood back about 1/2" on either side to accomodate the larger meats.

A 295/42.5/20 would be perfect..

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

Thanks Shawn -- I was kind concerned about the height but I think once the bed side is covering the tread and it doesn't blend where the tread meets the sidewall then the sidewall wont look as big. The picture makes them look bigger than they are.

295/45 - 30.45" tall
295/40 - 29.29" tall

It adds about .55" of sidewall .. which I think (personally) looks really good. I know most run 40 series on 5.5" BS but I'm going to set them back a little and a little bit more tire. I'm doing my own bedwood so a little tweaking (if necessary) will not be a problem to go 7 or so drop in the rear. Remember I lost .75" drop with the trailing arm flip mod so right now it's sitting at 6" spring, 1" block. We'll see how it looks after the bed gets on, all the wood, etc. What 500 more pounds? .. more? If I need it, I'll do 1.5" blocks. .. or 2" .. :) 4.5" drop up front so I don't want to get it lop sided.

Thanks man.. I have to admit. Justin's truck inspired me to go this route. He has 295/45 on the rear and I love the way it sits.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop

just messin with you man. Eric, it's a go brother. Let me work out some details and I'll get with you in the next day or so. I'm good with the pricing.

20x8.5 - 5.5 Backspacing, unless they'd do 5.37825 ? I'm concerned 5.25 might be tight when I'm turning. (just kidding Steve about it.. ) Somewhere between 5.25 and 5.5 would be perfect.

Let me pull the money together and I'll give you a shout. Just need to make a couple phone calls.
