Lee:Your laughing at me, its all good

Andy:Its from Harbor Freight, the wife got it for me so no gas, did turn the wire feed down to zero, seems like it was still coming out too fast. I will clean the area up first next time. Was more making sure it worked.

Johnoro:No there not grapes, there blackberries.

It's kinda' hard to fill a gap that big...even with a wire welder. Someone said, "Grapes?", mud dobber comes to mind. You need to get a piece of copper to back up that gap or you will never fill it.

Vince ;

Consider taking a Welding Class @ Trade Tech , it's a good school and I know many who've enjoyed the learning .

Practice makes for perfection , gather up some scrap fenders and have at it .

Thanks fellas. That part of the cab is not anything im going to use so I figured I would practice on that. Nate, im probably not going to take that class, but I appreciate the info. I will keep at it.

Vince, I was going to post pictures of the first welds with the new machine but that would have been showing off, no grinding required.

LOL!! Ok, I trump your welds with no grinding, with my new lowered stance.

Lsmft8181 ~

Nice truck ! you'll easily find an unrusted original hood at any local Pick-A-Part , just keep those hood hinges well lubed as these are serious hood benders .

Thanks Andy, its not a total of 5 1/2 inch drop in the front with a 5 inch drop in the rear. I needed the drive shaft pinion angle adjusted so I figured I would lower it now before taking it to the shop. I also have to add either my ram horns back on or by some shorty headers. Hit my collector backing in to my driveway.

I do like the stance
ram horns off a pick n pull
or someone getting rid of some will be the
least expensive, but if you go shortys
try speedways tru rams
a lot of guys with our set ups are really digging these.
By the way good job VDog

Thanks gentlemen. Of course its not with out issues, I have to change the lower ball joint on the driverside because the boot got damaged. Unless someone knows where to buy just the boot, its going to be changed.
I have two sets of ram horn, one is powder coated the other is rusted.
Like headers but for now I might just install the horns. Which ever I get, they need to be spark plug friendly. LOL

Vince, I use Energy Suspension Ball Joint Dust Boots 9-13126G. About $10 bucks and the kit does both lower and upper. Part number for the tie rod boot is 9-13119G. Any auto parts store can order them for you. I get them from Summit Racing. Lee

Thanks Lee. I found tie rod boots at OReilly auto parts, but no luck on the ball joint.

Re: SoCal checkin' in

Think im going to get my collector cut off today and run straight pipe for now that way I can still drive it until I figure out which way to go. Or I need to change up to 18's or 20inch rims and that will solve my problem. Too many decisions.

Tried putting on the yoke I got from summit, didnt know there was 2 diff spline shafts! Of course I got the wrong one, the one in my truck is a 16-18? Spline and the one I bought is a 28 spline :(
