well subscribers...stay tuned we should have the intercooler/radiator installed this week, following that the install if the accesory bracket with alternator, ac compressor, ps pump, etc....

we did not expect to have as much room as we do between the motor and radiator and had planned to squeeze an electronic fan.....with the room we now have we will install a mechanical fan instead wich will run off the fan belt. never had much luck with the elctric ones anyways.

hope to have some more pictures for you soon.

power steering pump is installed and lines are nearly finished being routed....a couple of mods need to be made with the tube bends.

the coolant intake is installed and ready as well as the water pump.

the mout for the mechanical fan is here.

the lower mount for the intercooler/radiator is complete-minus the paint.

final mods to the intercooler are being made. the port wasnt in a great location.

The passenger side port on the radiator was a little too close to the inner fender so we had to notch it out.

Man, that water inlet is friggin' sick!! I was wondering where you were going when you posted pics of that lifting bracket. I sure didn't expect that!! Very nice!! This whole conversion is turning out very nice. More pics!!

here is the actual fan we will use and the top mounting plate for the intercooler/radiator is about finished....it looks white due to the protective film on it.

I cant wait to hear what you think of the 4bt as a burb power plant. I have heard, that in stock form for the most part they put out about 300lb.ft of torque which is the same as a TBI 350. Im just curious if the 100ish hp they have will have an effect on its hill pulling power. For example, a TBI 350 burb will pull itself and a trailer full of wood over mild grades while maintaining 55mph fairly easily. I wonder if the 4bt will do the same. Furthermore what i wonder is if a slightly modified 4bt will, if a stock 4bt wont. Either way, i think they are super cool motors and i want one!

Sorry for the hijack Coboyle04.

1000hp is fine and dandy. Im more looking at a woods truck type situation. The fuel efficiency and "tractor" like qualities of the 4bt make it an appealing motor for a woods/hunting/expedition type truck (ie. my 78 GMC 3/4ton 4x4) but i cant help but worry myself with its potential lack of grunt as the truck gets loaded with fire wood and still needs to drive home and hopefully maintain 55mph the whole time. Basically, i look for the perspective of someone like the OP to hear their thoughts on the 4bt power. If it sounds like it may not cut the mustard without heavy modification, i would just go the way of the 6bt. Im not trying to pre judge the 4bt by any means! I know lots of folks use it and love it! I just wonder if its the right motor for ME, and i can help make that decision with feedback from folks like the OP, who are using it.

They guy who is installing it has one in his 2001 expedition and says he had close to 30mpg all the way from portland to san fran ...even through the passes at 65 mph

but the 4bts can be built for whatever you want....i wanted mine for mpg
you should look up the 4bt camaro video on youtube

i am nervous and excited to see how this holds up....what my mpg actually is, top speed, acceleration and towing.

update: pics will be comming soon, we are going to use a remote oil filter to make room for alt and ac compressor, air box and cooler tubing..anyone ever use one?

ready for the belt, you may notice the fan blade is close to the frame..we will be notching this out to give it a little space.

we are going to have to shorten the tube comming off the intercooler but it will be a nice clean fit when its done.

mounting brackets are completed on the intercooler/radiator
turbo is in and the tubes are just about finished.

the AC lines are about done, just waiting to see where and how we mount the air box and run the lines. then we can make a down pipe and wire it all up. then start up the beast.

transcooler and sway bar mounted. the cooler is actually angled more than it looks......if it doesnt cool enough we can easily adjust its angle or move to a better location
the front bumper back in place.
