Your truck is coming along nicely. Your work is top notch... I want my truck to look like your rendering but mine will be 507 blue. I have white wheels now but thinking about going back to black...

Also what wheels and size do you plan on running?

Very nice work, I love what you did with the rear bumper! I had that same bought when I saw the Dodge bumper, I'm glad to see someone has actually done it.

Thanks. The curve of the RAM bumper matches pretty well with the stock one at the top but the RAM bumper is more squared off towards the bottom. This picture shows what I'm talking about. The RAM bumper is only about 18 gauge so I was able to shape it to the contour of the stock bumper which is about twice the thickness. The only other tricky part is making sure you have it aligned with the exhaust tips.

Very nice work on the fuel tank and bed fill. The mounting ring is a nice touch.

Nice work on your build thread as well. I like the 507 blue.

The rendering is shown with 17 inch wheels. That is the minimum required to clear the front brakes I'm using.

Also, nice work on the cab/bed cart. I'm a big fan of making tools to help the restoration process move along.

Then i also have to ask, how do you like being an engineer? im an automotive tech due to not being able to afford engineering school and really want to study that. my whole family is consisted of engineers and i defiantly have the brain for it! being just a tech is easy on the mind but not the body..... sry to post here but would love some insight! also i think im going to purchase that hobart welder you have since its so versatile. :metal:

I really enjoy engineering and have been doing so for almost 13 years now. I don't get the opportunity for hands on work at my job so I use this project to get my fix on that side of things. I would encourage anyone with a passion for engineering to pursue it but I also understand the value of great technicians that help me everyday as well. Both career paths can be rewarding.

As far as the Hobart welder goes I have not had any issues with mine and I think they are a great value for the capability and price point.

Not a lot of progress since my last post but I was able to smooth out the front bumper licence plate area. Since the material was so thick I had to get creative on how to give it a subtle curve to match the bumper.

Very impressive work on the front bumper:metal:
Are you going to have it chromed when you're done?

Thanks! I plan on painting the bumper white to stick with my sleeper theme.

Nice job on all the metal work and the subtle changes that will set this truck apart from others. Looking forward to seeing you progress through this build.

Well it’s been some time since my last post. My wife and I are moving to a new house so that has slowed down progress quite a bit these past few months. The new house will have a larger workshop space so I'm looking forward to that even though my project is in "pause" mode at the moment. My dad and brother stopped by this weekend to help me move the truck to a storage location for the time being. You should see some new pictures starting in 2017 but for now here is the latest and greatest.
