Oh so your are ready to come down and hang with the brothers?lol Just kidding its more than just brothers.lol Its a lot of cool people.
The Inglewood cruise night does not jump like it use to, but Fudderuckers in Lakewood on Clerk is pretty nice its ran by a really cool guy (he's a Ford Truck guy but still.lol) and its a very friendly atmosphere. The one I've been to is on Sunday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM I have not been to the other ones.

Heres what Fuddruckers website says.
Lakewood Fuddruckers hosts vintage and classic car shows every Tuesday night 4-8PM and Sunday 1-5PM. Stop by the first Saturday of the month, 1-5PM to see fifty to eighty awesome cars. If you love classic cars, this is a must!

I'm not sure how many people are showing up now due to summer being over. I always head over to say whats up after I leave Long Beach Swap Meet.

Hey man, I'm "a brother from another mother of another color!". That's what I call my white brother-in-law and my black son-in-law. Its all good. Sounds like the best of those shows would be like Memorial day or Fourth of July.

Funny, I've never been to the Long Beach swaps even though I've meant to a million times. Is it still good, because Pomona - much as I still like it - is a shadow if what it once was. At least in my opinion.

Most of them are people I know trucks with the exception of the two black ones and the yellow one you like.

As you can see the yellow paint is like yellow glass. I love the quality of the paint on that truck.

..Dang..I sure am getting what I asked for..Plenty pics and info..All of these are some beautiful work..I'm really enjoying this thread..

but I have noticed a pattern here..most of these trucks are lowered "way down"..is this a "Cal." thang..:lol: or is it "the" thang to do on these year models? JK..

I'm really sold on these 55/56/57 trucks now..hope I can find one to restore..

I must admit that in Cali I don't know too many people that don't like them low. We like things low and mean while we cruise the streets. I respect all builds but I'm Cali through and through so it's got to be low.

So do you know who painted it and are you planning to use him on yours?

My girlfriend give me grief about "lowrider trucks" whenever we see a truck I make a comment about. She hasn't a clue the difference between a "lowered truck" and a "lowrider truck."

I've tried to explain it til I'm blue in the face but she insists trucks should NEVER be lowered and I insist they only look the way I like them if they are. Maybe not slammed at my age, but I admit I like the slammed look just not for me.

No I don't know the guy that painted that truck or the owner, but man that paint is nice. Nope I can't afford a shop to do anything for me so I do everything in house so I will be painting my truck myself.

As far as your girlfriend, she's not the only one that thinks a lowered truck is a lowrider truck so cut her some slack and keep on taking her to car shows.lol

They actually ride and handle great, but you will not be ragged on for this. You are entitled to like these trucks however you chose. If you want it stocked height, a little lower, or slammed that's your personal taste and you can not be wrong about what you like. Personally I like them low or slammed so I tend to like pics of trucks done that way that's all. Its just where my taste lies, I like everything low.

Those are some nice trucks,the body style still looks good after 50 years.If GM had a half of brain they would bring the model back today set on a camaro or corvette platform with 700 hp option.

700 HP? Uh huh, riiight. That's NEVER gonna happen and as to bringing this truck body style back in mass production after over 50 years? C'mon, would you really want a bunch of posers driving around in PT Cruiser-like 55-59 Chevy trucks with plastic dashes, 5 mph impact bumpers, gi-normous tail lights and side markers? Not me.

That's why (Among MANY $$$ other reasons) I wouldn't have a Ferrari or a Maserati. All it takes to have one is the ability to sign a lease. Our trucks are unique and in my opinion timeless.

These trucks have the stance I'm going for. Maybe the tire sidewalls are a bit too tall...70's, 75's? I think I'm gonna go with a 60 series tire on a 15" rim as 50's and lower look kinda dumb to me old school size rims (just my opinion).

..OK Dan..I do remember you teaching me the difference in the bow-tie Hood emblems and the fender emblems..so the maroon looking truck I'd say is a '55..right? but..I'm really confused on the fender showing "3200" on a 55 truck?

Yes, the maroon one is a '55 based just on the grille, hood ornament and fender badge placement - You have learned Little Grasshopper!:lol:

I'm not THE expert by any means but as far as I know the 32000 means 3/4 ton. The problem with that is I don't know if 3/4 ton trucks ever came in short beds? Maybe they did (someone here will know) or maybe the guy just got a good deal on 3200 badges and doesn't know or doesn't care about the meaning.
