Wow wow wow... it has been years too long.

A lot has changed in my life but I still have this truck!

Update time!

The truck now has a 1985 6.2 out of a M1028 cucv with 14k original mikes. Since install in 2014, I have put about 15k on it with no issue.

The axles are also now changed. The axles came from a 1986 M1028. So that means a Dana 60 with a limited slip and a 14FF with a Detroit and both 456 gears.

The transmission is still a SM465 but I picked up a ranger Od 3. Still has not been installed.

The truck now rolls on 37 military oz on 12 bolt beadlock wheels.

It is my daily driver. I hope to get pics soon. If you have questions just ask.

Good luck with your projects!!

So MA changes their lift laws...

This state sucks. Truck has been taken off the road and will be registered else where.

Here are some pics tho.

So the day had finally come to tackle the cab rot on the stepside.
Kick panels both sides
Inner and outer roxkers
Cab corners
Floor pans
Front cab mounts.

Plan is to raptor line the floor then mill at then res carpet.
Also plan to repaint the truck back to the old lime green.

So here we go…

To start i needed to get rid of the old wheels and tires and lower the truck down some. Also wanted to free up some cash and sell the old beadlocks and 37’s

Wheels are ford 16x7 acuride steel rims off an e250/350 van. From the pick and pull these were $100 for 4.

Primed and painted with the GM 517 poly lime green the truck will be.

Tires are super swamper TSL SXIi 35/10 r16 bias ply

Balanced with 6 oz of beads per wheel.

Now its time for the truck to come apart for new fendrrs and doors, cleaning the frame and coating the new cab floor.

Used a grinder , sander and dustless blaster on the pressure washer with playground sand. Wish i had more before pixs but was going quick.

Chassie got two coats of eastwood rust encapsulator and then extreame chassis paint all sprayed from an HVLP

You can see how the bed sagged down in front because of the wood floor rotting out.

An engine hoist is one of the best tools to own…

This is after needle scale, wire wheel, sandblast and coating with eastwood. This time its all black and no accent colors. Frame will be fluid filmed or bar and chqin oiled before each winter to reduce rust in the future.

The DIY4x shackle flip has held up real well. Eventually i would like to flip it and run 56 inch rear leafs.

I like the steel wheels. Always liked that color green too.

So I just purchased new fenders for my 74 C20 from tkorinek here on the forum, as he's local. I got the newly tooled ones. They're as heavy duty as OEM fenders. However, with that said, I had a bunch of issues with the driver's side fender. Maybe it's just my truck, but the top part of the fender that meets up with the A-pillar doesn't seem to be stamped correctly. No matter now many shims I used, it just wasn't curved right and I ended up having to bend it outward, which I wasn't happy about. The passenger side fit great, so i'm happy with that one.

Anyway, something to keep in mind. And from what I've read/been told, the "cheaper" reproduction fenders are total junk.

Re: The Green Monster Just an old farm truck

I used a LMC premium on the drivers side and had an older aftermarket i used on the pass side. The stamping was not as crisp on the premium but it beats the rotted ones i had. Fit was so so. I will work on updating this. The wheels also have dog dish caps so those will be put on soon.

If i had a ton of money i would love to put the right year hood back on it but that cash could be better used replacing the bed floor.

So with the frame wrapped up i needed to sand prime and paint the body..

No real care was taken to fix the dents. Seam sealer and rust prep wheb beeded. Any filler was minimal.

2 coats of primer
3 coats of 517 GM green
Nassar fast dry single stage. Should of gone heavier on it and may do a wet coat later

About 1000 pounds of scrap in the back mostly old doors and fenders.
