Alright guys I haven't posted anything in awhile. This is what I have been doing. redid the back half.

Got the lower arms that I bought cut up. They are at work right now so no pics of them. I still need to weld up the rod ends.

Got the motor and trans pulled out. I need to finish the back half before I fun the brake and fuel lines.

Re: "Project 64"

Why did you make your notch so high? Doesnt it just have to clear the axle? From the looks of it, it looks like it's going to be higher then your bedsides. Maybe it's just the angle of the picture. The top of my tires are within 2" of the top of my bedsides. Good to see you working on it.:metal:

Re: "Project 64"

The top of the bars are 25" so it wont go over the bed sides. I measured wrong, but it wasn't worth changing it. Gives me room to run a 48" tire and still lay out. I still got to get my wishbone redone then i can put it all together.

Re: "Project 64"

dude you know you wanna be like me. I'll be the only one blazing sparks on 48" tall tires. I'm going to put "Get like me" on my tailgate. I see a trend.

Re: "Project 64"

Those aren't the tires I'm going to run. They are 24" I'm going to be running a 29" front and back. so it will move it up a little more, but I'll still have 4" to go before I hit the frame.

Re: "Project 64"

Oh the frame is going to lay out for sure. The axle will have 4" before it hits frame.

Re: "Project 64"

Re: "Project 64"

Man haven't had the time. I'm trying to mess around with my 4 link now. My unit is about to go 2 the field for 2 weeks and of course I'm not going so I'm going to take some stuff to work to work on it, or just come home while everyone is gone and use that time right.

Dang that was alot of reading Paul! Looks like your engine is almost identical to the one in my 4x4. I might be lost on this laying frame with 48s though.

Oh, and good job getting things right with the wife. :D
Sure makes truck building alot easier!

Re: "Project 64"

Man I really missed your message Travis. Thanks for looking over here.

I need some help though. I'm working on the wishbone links. what I need to know is if it matters if the upper and lowers are at the same pivot point. What I means is some people say that the upper needs to sit further to the cab then the lower pivot point.

Re: "Project 64"

Re: "Project 64"

This is how it should ride with the links set up correctly. :haha:

Really I hope this helps you out.

Re: "Project 64"

thanks Dennis that does help. I really like the Nissan one better, gives a better understanding of side to side.

My lower bars are going to be 33". would it be better to set the upper bars a little longer.

Re: "Project 64"

Glad you got something out of it. I hope it wasn't a woodie from the first one...:haha:
