This is the left front. I am not 100% happy with it cause i wanted to mount it on the upper control arm, but could not find a good place to get the correct amount of travel. I used a weld on bracket and hung it below the frame behind the lower control arm. Has ok travel and will work.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
looks like my driveshaft may hit the floor pan. I could run rear bump stops to keep it away or section the floor out and let the shaft go higher. Is there a reason to do or not do either one?

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
I cut a section of the top of the frame out, and I am planning on raising the small hump at the very rear most part of the floor pan, where it goes under the seat, to make sure the driveshaft doesn't hit it.
When my dad and I built the driveshaft, I also put a slip yoke in the rear driveshaft like the 4 wheel drive guys use, so the driveshaft wouldn't be trying to move forward and backward and beat out my carrier bearing. |

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
That wagon belongs to a guy named Cody Walls. Super cool guy and amazingly talented. I followed the build of that car on the HAMB and Instagram. There's some really kick ass work that has been put into that car!

High heat paint on the manifolds. Mocking up the brackets with ac compressor, alternator, and power steering pump. It all fits well. Pulling brackets back off for paint.

Small progress tonight. I hate it when i feel like i didnt get much done. But all the little things will add up to one day the car will be on the ground and running. Stabbed the distributor, and spent forever routing the plug wires. Installed and shimmed a brand new starter.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
Looks great! I may have missed it, but did you decide on a cam?
|
Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
Yes. I went with the summit brand k1102 camshaft kit. It's basically a copy of the edelbrock performer cam just cheaper. I was trying to save a few bucks on the engine. All I really wanted was a little rumble at idle and a good drivable power band

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
I went by a local upholstry shop last night as the owner stayed late for me to come check it out. He moved his schedule around to get me an appointment on April 20 to do the complete interior!!!! I can not wait. He said it will take 2 weeks. That gives me plenty of time to get ready for the Beatersville show just a few miles from my house on memorial day weekend. If any of you are close enough to Louisville KY its well worth coming to the show. This is the shop that will be doing the work www.sewntight.com we looked at a lot of samples, should end up being turquoise vinyl and houndstooth inserts.
