Ordinary trucks you used to see all over

Re: Classic Trucks: Other Makes
You're killing me with those Fords Tim. They remind me of a truck I saw at Pomona. A black 71 loaded shortbed. All original. The guy was practically giving it away. But of course I had no money at the time.
That truck and another time at Pomona. A guy was selling a 67 Charger. All original with a 426 Hemi. It looked like grandpa's car. It may have been. Ran like a Swiss watch. The guy was selling it dirt cheap. But once again I didn't have the money. I had a new mortgage and a baby. No money for cars. |
Re: Classic Trucks: Other Makes
I wish my '63 Ford was this nice. One day I'll get back and finish it up. (famous last words)

I really do too. That grille they originally had is the best. I tried to find some 2wd pictures of J10s or Gladiators and only found 4wd pictures. no biggie but this thread is intended for 2wd trucks since there already is this thread for 4wds of 'other makes'

No worries. I don't know if I said the thread was intended for 2wd or not, but that's the intent. That 4wd thread is a popular long running thread and I thought we could try the same with 2wd trucks. That J10 is super nice. Great example

I always liked the small rear window in the Stude's It almost gives the illusion that it's chopped. |

This style of Studebaker is a favorite truck of mine. Maybe some day. It's funny. Not long ago I took a ride past the farm I lived on in the late-70s where the neighbor was an old man who had worked for Studebaker before they shut down production (then went to Mercedes). we talked a lot about the Studes... and many other old things. I have stories. anyway, I would assume he is no longer with us, but either I'm wrong or his son now lives there or he sold it to a fellow Studebaker nut. Nothing looked changed. Old farm tools hung displayed on the old barn, the 150 year old locust post and rail fence he put a wanted ad in the paper for and found, everything. But what was not there before, and I only caught a glimpse, were three of these pickups sitting. Yeah, I really need to stop by and chat sometime soon.

Re: Classic Trucks: Other Makes
OK, I'm missing something with the reply function. I've noticed that sometimes the pictures post, and other times they don't. That red truck is the one I was referring to when I said that it looked it got goosed, but the pics didn't post in my reply.

Huh, I dunno what to say about that. That truck definitely has a mouth. I'd like to see a what a white one with red grille would look like.
Here is an uncommon sight at truck shows. Nice! |
