Seen the truck at the mall @ CTC. Actually I heard it before I seen it, and it sounds real good. And I'm sure all the Hooter's girls loved it too! Didn't know I was talkin to a couple of members at first either. Glad to have met Kevin and Cade, real kewl guys!

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

Bad news! I drove the truck to the track Saturday night and then to a Cruise In. I went back to the track and made a pass after the race was over. The clocks had been unplugged so no time slip. The truck felt pretty good. When I turned off the return road the motor was knocking. A friend named Jerry and I tore it down to the short block without actually Finding much damage. I have to borrow a Cherry Picker to get the shortblock out and torn down. I think it stacked number one Rod bearing. We will see.
I hate it but if it won't survive track passes I don't need it. We will get it out and fix it.

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

I think you could get 450-500rwhp out of it with a well thought out combo that would not break the bank.

Not a huge fan of L92 heads, but they would be a viable option but you need different rockers. Personally I would rather see you put a set of ported LS6 heads on it.

24x/25x with .64x lift cam
Headers
Super Vic intake
4150 dominator throttle body
Under drive pulley
4,500 rpm stall

Bet that is an 11.50 combo.

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

I got the roll over truck home this weekend. Cade tightened the spark plugs and pulled the battery. We added water and charged the battery then put it back in and we tried to crank it. The starter is flakey but after a few love taps on the starter it turned over and spun just a couple seconds before coming to life! Gonna fix the starter then pull the motor and tranny.

Got to get this truck back together quick as the body shop is working on the drag truck hard and heavy! Got the 6.0 out of the rollover and got a set of 317 for it. I think I am gonna cut 40 thousands off of them and put an ls6 cam in it!

Re: DJ JR's Build Thread

Lots of stuff has changed since the last post. Cade totalled the above mentioned 2000 extra cab gmc. I bought him a 2005 Z71 2wd tahoe and have been pimping it out. We are almost done with the massive stereo.

My girlfriend Picked up the 4l80 for this truck Yesterday. I can't wait to get it back running! I thought about trying to kill myself and get it running by next weekend but decided I may be to old to push that hard anymore. Not to mention I have a jacked up Finger on my left hand. Everytime I touch something with it I create new Words!
