If you're available on Sunday mornings, you need to bring the truck by the show on Cheyenne and Jones. Unfortunately I wont be around next weekend, but Sunday September 6th I'll be back in town. There was another LSx swap truck in 2010 Camaro Cyber Grey Metallic there last weekend....

Re: 1968 C10 5.3 swap, the easy way.

I am in the process of the same swap also. I have a LM7-5.3 LS1 from a 2000 Suburban, but I opted to go with a 700r4 OD tranny with 2500 stall converter. I plan on using 20" GM/Chevy late model factory oem wheels found on todays SUV/Trucks.

What would be an ideal rear end gear? Which gears are you using, the original 3.08s?

Let me know how yours is running as a daily driver..Thanks

Re: 1968 C10 5.3 swap, the easy way.

Stock 3.73 ratio gears work great. I am now running a ford 8.8 rear but with 3.73s. Cheap way to get posi.

I have a 1968 firebird rotting away and it needs to be saved. I cant afford two classic cars plus a daily driver. I found a buyer that wants to daily drive it the way it was intended to be used. Las Vegas has to many crazy drivers.

Truck oil pan. A 98-02 ls1 camaro pan will give the best clearance but the truck pan works fine if the vehicle is only lowered a few inches.

Where the dirty dingo 67-72 mounts available when you did this build or do the ones you used just work better? What trans crossmember did you use?

What wires did you use off the top bulk head plug on the firewall?? I'm about to do mine and just keep finding a kind of useless (to me) factory wiring diagram... thanks in advance!

Did you modify the gas tank to run the stock fuel pump or order it this way?

I have had an issue ripping apart the early Small block chevy rubber mounts so I will not use that design anymore. You can buy the poly mounts but they cost more $$$ I used the later mounts since they are a clam shell design encased in metal. Those engine mounts were used on the 73-87 trucks.

We modded the carb version of the tank. We just cut a hole to drop the pump down into.

Tomorrow will be the first start and will post more pics.

is this a short bed? i am worried about my drive shaft not fitting but if you have a short bed then i have no worries

Same here slid the engine back until it ,matched the seal mark on the driveshaft
The shift linkage matched up also with the TH350 part placed on the 4L60E C10 short bed

You mentioned that you build the wiring harnesses, do you have a website or link? I’ve got a 68 C10 I’m putting together and want to do an LS swap on soon. Having an ready to go harness would be so much easier I think.
