They said El Camino wasn't a popular concept...

Re: Pic Thread: Not Just El Caminos
Not an El Camino. But cool IMHO. Kind of the same concept. Is it a van or is it a truck?
I like Corvairs. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...vair_Truck.jpg http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/data/500/FNader.jpg |
Re: Pic Thread: Not Just El Caminos
You NEED a Corvair. I mean it. I like em too. Don't have one but I like em. I'd love to drive a mid engine'd one. :metal:

That Beemer is slick! What's that, a 3.0 C? I forget now, but the big hot one from back before BMWs became yuppie prizes. Back in the 1600s and 2002tii days I like the Corvairs. too. All of them |

I came close to buying a 850 CI. I'm so glad that I didn't. There was a reason it was cheap. It scared me off. Plus I had kids and really did need 4 doors. So I bought a 740 iL. Which I regretted. Nice car....A very nice pile of sh++. 3.0 CSI http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...00/3_0_CSI.jpg 850 CI What can I say. It had a V12. I wanted a V12. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...bmw-850_Ci.jpg And the 740iL that I ended up with. A tuna boat. It was nice if you had kids. (They could help push it) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/data/500/740_iL.jpg And the other one I passed on. Which I REALLY regret. My ex wife pitched a fit and I folded. In retrospect, I should have told her to shut her pie hole and bought it. It was brand spanking new and the dealer wanted to get it off the lot :dohh: But she wanted a BMW. So we got a BMW. :( http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...500-454-ss.jpg Rant off. Back to the Not Just El Camino's. Does anyone have some Grey Poupon? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...Benz_truck.jpg |

Yeah, it's a fear of the cost of upkeep that has kept me away from the 'Finer breed' of Euro cars. Just like a boat, I enjoy looking and riding in ones somebody else owns.
Nope, when it comes to mustard it's Woebler's Jalapeno! |
Re: Pic Thread: Not Just El Caminos
Interesting. History may not repeat but it rhymes. Next time I see a Sierraverado with a five foot bed I think that I will call it an El Camino. :hm:
Should a cross between a coupe and a pickup be called a pickoupe ??? If I convert my HHR to a pickup, will it be an El Charro ??? |
Re: Pic Thread: Not Just El Caminos
I love me some Jalapeno mustard. I'll have to try that Woeber's. (Hello Amazon!)
I like this stuff. I can eat it off a spoon. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...nglehoffer.png My boat really hasn't cost me too much money. But it looks like it. Poor thing. It's just been sitting at my other house getting hammered by the elements lately. I put a cover on it. But the wind got that. I really need to clean the old girl up and get another cover. It's a fun boat. One of these days. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...ium/boat_7.jpg Ever see one of these? A Powell Sportwagon. Built in beautiful Compton California. (It really not all that beautiful I've been there). http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...00/powell1.jpg |

Yeah, the same guy who designed the washing machine and the drier did the design on those. I think they're cool
I have one shelf on the door of my fridge dedicated to mustard. That Woebler's is old yeller with Jalapeners plain and simple. It goes on the burgers for me. There's a Poupon but the working class brand. There's the spicy deli, the creole, horseradishy, honey, and for sweet & hot it's Beaver! Prolly others, too. My mom said she's never seen so many condiments in one refrigerator. I said, "That's because I can't cook" Attachment 1985005 Gotta love a Caddy. I always wanted a flower car. When do you ever see those for sale? That first Cadillac is a truck. Want to argue or just roll'em up and start to tusslin'? |

Re: Pic Thread: Not Just El Caminos
I have a friend that has an SSR with a 6.0 and six speed. I can't find an option for a six speed, so I'm wondering why his has one.
My wife got on a kick for a while to buy one, but it blew over. |

My buddy got a black SSR recently. Kind of funny for him because he's pretty cheap and not into sporty things or going fast. He's an old truck, Model T, and Model A (stock) guy. He's been happy running his Astro Van all these years and now he rolls the snazzy whatchamacallit. I rode in it a couple weeks ago and commented it was awfully plain. He's me friend who does lettering, pinstripe, murals, etc. He said "Not for long". He'll do some sort of wildness on it I'm sure... usually over the top for my taste.
Boy, when I was married and my wife mentioned she was 'thinking' about buying something it meant it will be here tomorrow when you get home. |
Re: Pic Thread: Not Just El Caminos
I've always had a soft spot for those 66 Super Sport's. Back in the day when I was a meter reader there was one parked at a house on my regular route. Just sitting. It never moved. I tried to get someones attention at the place for a couple of years. I even left a note on it. Never anything. I'm not sure if anyone lived there or not. There was never any activity. It was pale yellow like the one in the pic. And it was a stick. I sure wanted it. But I got nowhere.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...6_chevelle.jpg I dated a girl and she had one of these. I thought it was butt ugly. But she loved that thing. And she was hot. Hey we all have to do what we have to do. So, I would ride in it. (As he covers his face in shame) :( http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/.../Rampage_2.jpg |
Re: Pic Thread: Not Just El Caminos
Man. That yellow SS brings back memories. Back in 66 two brothers around the corner got new SS396 Chevelles in high school. One was that yellow and the other was blue. They ran the crap out of those cars. Of course. I sure loved those cars. I once found a real nice 67 SS for sale. 1 owner. It was green with vinyl top, wheel covers and automatic, belonged to one of the high school teachers. I actually took it for a drive but it just wasn't what I wanted so I passed. Looking back, well, you know.

I know only too well. When I was about 17. I was looking for a car. My mother of all people told me her friend had a nice car for sale. A 71 Chevelle. It was one owner and cleaner than Kleenex. But it was a 350 and had a vinyl top. I wanted a big block and didn't like the vinyl top. I thought it looked a little too grandma. So I passed on it. :dohh: STUPID !!! That car was spotless and her friend wasn't asking too much for it. :banghead: I was a dumb kid. |
