Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Can you tell me how the wiring will connect? Do you just run one wire to the tach connector on the HEI cap and one ground? And if so, do you know how accurate it will be?

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but the connector that goes on the back of the tach has two terminal connections. One is power and the other connects to the dist. The terminal that is going to the dist. can be changed to fit an hei easily.

Thanks Guys. Your comments are appreciated! I put in the tranny crossmember and the frame linkage bracket. The arms are done and are waiting for the crossmember to be mounted. Its a job cleaning that thing.I put in an order for drop spindles and they are backordered 2 weeks. I bought some grade 8 bolts and still need some more. Good excuse to go to Lowes.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Looking good. Yeah, it does take time...I had 70 hours in my frame...but it's a good payoff when it's done and together.
I think I spent well over $100 at lowes on Grade 8 stuff...no tractor supply or northern tools that close to me... |
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Looks great. You make it look awful easy. I haven't done a frame off yet so I'm keeping a close watch. Make it look easy for me!

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
i have been following your build for a while and have a question. what paint are you using on you frame? i see that is looks like red oxide primer you are using, are you sanding the red oxide before to coat? or are you just spraying it. thanks. looking good so far.

I am using rustoleum rusty metal primer. Its great to fill with and if you take your time and prep it good it lasts.I am wet sanding it then painting gloss black on it. It will dull down to a semi gloss or satin finish after a while which is what I want. Thanks for following and ask again if you have anymore questions. |
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I'm waiting on b/o ECE drop spindles too..along with a few other things. Hopefully not too much longer tho.
|
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Looks like they would step up production a bit. Their going to lose business if people want to take another brand. I don't.
|
Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
they offer western chassis spindles if you need them now...but I don't know that co. well enough, so I'll stay with the one I have heard good things about.
