well i just might be getting some new goodies for the 67 well not new but you cant beat original i found those hard to find 67 air cleaners and since i ran a 72 suspension i found the 72 5 lug steel rims with the nubs so i could put the dog dish caps if i want and since i got a search light that had no handle on the inside i found one its about3 1/2 in and its black and to top it off one dog dish hub cap all for about 70 80 bucks

Re: slik ricks 67 short wide custom/10

thanks man!! i wanst planning on puttin it back on anytime soon but im temted to learn some body work and rustoleum it and put the trim back on, paint the roof white get my slots on and roll it like that! But then I think id have too much black (tires body etc) maybe a blue rustoleum..

67chevy1series 11-28-2010 09:27 PM

Re: slik ricks 67 short wide custom/10

ya rustoleum it a light blue to match the truck

oldblue1968chevy 11-28-2010 09:40 PM

Re: slik ricks 67 short wide custom/10

Hmmm...

Wheres best place to get the stuff? Walmart, autozone etc?

Thing is I know 0 about bodywork..pull the dents, leave em, bondo em? What do I shoot before the paint?

(We have a spraygun or 2 and a big compressor, but no place to really do it...) may have to wait till spring?) I wish I had shop at school!

67chevy1series 11-28-2010 11:03 PM

Re: slik ricks 67 short wide custom/10

well if you are going to paint it, the drive way then do it early in the mornig or in the evening or there is going to be a lot of bugs landing on the paint ,if the dent is about the thickness of a quarter than bondo but put por 15 down then bondo over the por 15 so it doesnt rust under the bondo, other than that try to get on the back side of the dent and pound it out with a ball peen hammer

67chevylongbed 11-28-2010 11:38 PM

Re: slik ricks 67 short wide custom/10

I sprayed rustoleum on mine in my driveway/garage. I was able to pop out some of the dings in my truck but there were a few spots I had to use bondo on. If you strip it down to bare metal then you'll want to use some primer but if you sand it smooth then you can just spray the rustoleum on. I got mine at Home depot but I think Wal Mart would carry it too.
