I love the look of semigloss stuff.. you might have a wire pinched in the door where they run from the door to cab.

Well the white wire seems fine but I found 3 cut wires near the duct in the console...A yellow, Black, and gray wire....I assume these are accessory wires and may be the reason the stereo is run all to itself...

Any ideas?

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

OK so I have the dome working except for the fact that its only if the key is in the car....If i wire it direct to the battery it will work like it is suppose to but thats a lot of work for something i prob dont need.... Either way the ACC fuse spot is still jacked and I dont know why.....I assume the power wire to it is ground out...Anyone know what wire in the engine bay goes to it??? Or how i can trace it? I sure dont want to remove that fuse thing and look at the back of it

Also the new door jamb switch are ghetto!!! The screw doesnt go the whole distance so after putting them on they were loose! I had to remove them and add a washer and of course in doing so i lost the wire in the hole and had to play fish a wire.... Needless to say after putting them back together i added electrical tape to keep it all together..

Does that duplicolor work good? I bought that $100 kit they sell at AutoZone and was thinking about putting in the bed. Did you just scuff up the area and roll it on? It looks great so im hoping mine turns out this good.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

I used spray cans of it but I wire wheeled it down and then took some sand paper over it... Used soap and water on it and then used alcohol all over it... Its pretty smooth but i really like it....

yellow-radio- ign power
black -radio-grnd
grey - cluster /dash lights

can I ask how the radio is wired
got pics?

JRANGER 05-25-2012 09:14 AM

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Hmmm....That makes me wonder about the grey wire since all my cluster and dash lights work....

The radio is powered by a Red fused wire going to the fuse block and smashed in with a fuse, I ran a direct wire from the battery for the memory wire, and its gorunded out to the frame from a wire i ran after finding a crap ground on it.

So my assumption is the guy didnt feel like finding out why the ACC fuse wouldnt stop blowing and just wired it in like it is.... I figure there is a power wire grounding out somewhere going into the ACC just have no clue where

Ok I couldn't resist....With over half a can of Aerosol Rust-Oleum Professional Semi-Glosss Enamel left after my Grille test. So....I covered my hood with a sheet and hit the fender with 2 coats...

Cant wait to see it dry

Went to pull a part today and bought a glove box that had a piano hinge riveted it
A gauge Cluster (Worthless)
A Couple Extra Gauges
A tail light (Wrong side damnit)
A side marker light (opps thought i needed it)
A pristine dash bezel (Just because)
A cut up engine wiring harness plate

Then I tested out the gauge bezel and the speedo was shot.... didnt work at all
Then I tested the speedo that i got separate...Just put it in with no bezel direct to the cable and wahhhhlaaaa!!! The speedo doesn't float or do anything weird anymore...

Realized my gas Gauge is off as it is reading funny and when i put the other gauges in it said it was empty...Added gas and it went up...Guess I really messed up when I removed needles..

Took apart the gauge bezel and painted the inside white
Painted the black metal piece white on the back and hit the front with flat black primer
Ordered new white faces offline
Installed new strikers
and Got my Bench Console made by a member on here.
