Hopefully I can make some time this week to finish things off and get it running by this weekend.

Parts haul for the 67. New rad support, new inner fender, original drivers side door, front bumper, and clean white 16 in. steel wheels. Money well spent. Thanks, Joe and Marie.

Having any luck getting the truck running this weekend?

Nope. Too many honeydews at the homestead. Found a hardware store that actually carries the hardware that I need for this truck. Old time hardware store with every fastener imaginable. Made my day. Now I can finish making up my throttle linkage.

You got to like that. I have one of those type hardware stores close to me too.

Stopped by to say hi and check out your truck. Looks like we probably are not that far from each other. I went to Monster Machine in Carmichael, have you dealt with them before? I was impressed and think I can trust them but wouldn't mind hearing from anyone who has used them in the past.

Nathan

I haven't been out to Monster, but I've been wondering if there were any good shops in the Sac area just in case I need one. Good to know.

Not too far from you. On the west side of I5 near Arco, I mean, Sleep Train Arena.

Today was the day. Finished my throttle linkage, filled her up with fluids, cranked her up. Sputtered at first, and had some nice flames coming out of the carb. Made a slight adjustment to the timing, and fired right up. Nice and smooth. Sounds good. Only problem is oil leaking from the spin-on oil filter adapter. Need to fix that. Next up: tires and dual exhaust.

Nice to have it running!

I noticed some smoke on the passenger side at the manifold toward the end of the video, paint burning off?

Saclandman 04-10-2015 10:02 AM

Re: Project Coca-Rustola: '67 C20 Longstepper

Nah. Spilled a little oil on the manifold when I was filling. Forgot to bring my funnel. I'm a bad aim with those 5 quart jugs of oil.

Removed the tick off Ol' Crusty's backside today. Damn, that thing was heavy. Also fixed my oil leak and got my drivers side door glass and wing window put back in the door.
