That's a fine looking El Camino. I've seen a lot of custom wheels on a lot of different vehicles through out my life, but I think GM knocked it out of the ball park with their Rally wheels! To this day they look great on any GM vehicle.

Thanks, I'm rather fond of them too.

You reckon those toys are on air ride or static drops? They could be fun to bounce around in, now and then. ;)

Some look like they are. Some look like they'd drive like a go cart. I don't care what it is. If it handles like a go cart I want to drive it........... hard!

Here's a '55, '56, '57, and '58. I couldn't find any custom-built '59s or '60s... huh. I already showed that '61 before, so here is a '62. I don't think there's a year out there someone hasn't done a Mean Ole Elky job on

I can't get enough of these! That '57 looks like it has an under bed storage door. Very cool!

I see that now. All of these sure took a dedicated bunch of skilled work. That's for sure.

That '58 Elnomad has my eye. While I'm not a 58 fan that one looks good. The rear window/lift hatch treatment of several of these is interesting.
The pink Rambler? Well, uh, trying to be nice. Just NO.

'58s are very truck-like... boxy wide square stout. That's why my favorite '58 is the Sedan Delivery. To me it looks like a panel truck that was customized... chopped channeled and such. The '57 cars had fins and so did the '59, so none on a '58 lends to the truck vibe a bit when compared to it's closest siblings. '58s are all by themselves for sure. They are a love or hate car. I like them for being different and being Chevy's one year of jumping in with the trend of big boxy turnpike cruisers before stepping into their own direction with the 59.60s bursting at the seam with style while being that big chunk of hiway metal.

... Can't stop.

Don't look at it as a car and you might like them better

Did you hear what that conversion added to the cost... in 1966? That was one very expensive novelty!

Yeah, it wasn't a working man's truck.
