Re: my 48 s10 swap

I have run into a bit of a problem...still. There is a neutral SAFETY switch and a park/neutral INDICATOR switch. 12v goes through the neutral safety switch(shifter on the floor) when key is turned to crank in park/neutral. No continuity in other gears(correct). My problem comes when the painless TBI harness wants me to wire the orange/black and black/white wire to the park/neutral indicator switch. I had these wires running to the neutral safety switch and that is WRONG. I hope we didn't fry the PCU :s Any hints/help? I am calling painless now.

The Truck CRANKS!!!!!!!!!!! I do have a question for anyone that may know. I am obviously working on starting the engine. However I don't want to burn up the power steering pump when i start it. Does anyone know if I can loop the power steering lines off the pump? I know one side is high pressure and low pressure. Will the high pressure blow the line off the return or?

I'll keep talking to myself :P The truck was cranking, now I am having an issue with the relay. Relay in, no cranking. Jumper wire, engine cranks. Oil pressure gauge is not working correctly, not sure what the deal is. The truck WAS cranking, but had no injector spray. Going to work with painless and figure out the cranking problem, then the gauge problem. Then the fuel problem. Then i *hope* it starts

One of these days I'll get to that point on mine. Wish I could give you great words of wisdom, but not sure what to check. Keep trotting along with it, your doing a great job.

Another update, I finally got the injectors firing. Turns out I was only providing power to the computer in 'run' not start and run. Now, I have to triple check my firing order/dizzy because it seems out of whack. I have like 4 videos of no startup lol

Done yet? not quite!! It does run, and I got the rear mounts for the seat done. I am going to work on the fronts monday. I need to buy -AN fittings/line to make my custom power steering line. After I get the PS line in, made and installed I will be able to run the motor and get it up to operating temp(I can't put the belt on now, would burn up the pump).

Wow, time flies! I'll get some pictures up this weekend hopefully. It's not 100% done, it does run and drive now. I need to put exhaust on and finish the body but I have finished up a few things. The biggest change is that I own the truck now!

good to see you back! i share your build everytime someone asks and is ready to by a s10 chassis swap kit for $1500+ dollars and they read the thread figuring out the kit isn't needed! just have to be a redneck or a farmer! LOL!

Back at it. Exhaust going on today(now!). 2.5" Y pipe to a single 3" collector with a baby glass pack, she should be pretty rowdy! Insurance coming to get it registered also. Next is door handles and front end to get it semi-road worthy.
