Sorry for the wait. I've been concentrating on working on the truck for the last few months. I haven't had much time to upload pics. Here are a few.

Frame horns. standard body drop stuff

Cab; I went with a traditional body drop. I changed it up a little bit by angling the pieces by the door so you don't have the sharp drop. I didn't take very many pictures because I was trying to get it done in a weekend.

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''

Dropping the bed; I started by cutting the bed floor in the rear followed by taking 2 inches out of the front. I drilled out the spot welds on the front of the bed releasing the bed sides. Then I measured 2inches down from the inside of the top of the rail and folded it inside, dropping it 2 inches.

I still have a ton of welding to do on the bed, I need to weld in a notch cover. I'll be hitting this hot and heavy for the next 6 months so that hopefully I can get it ready for next show season.

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''

It has been a long time since I posted any progress, but I've been doing a ton of work on this truck and many other projects. I took advantage of the warm weather by painting the interior. I painted all the dash, door panels, and the rest of the interior plastic pieces. I used Chevy black with silver flake in the clear. I also recovered the headliner and sun-visors in a black suede style material and bought a center consol from a '99 Tahoe that I built a plate for my air pressure gauge and switches into. The switches are from the '93 door panels. The stereo and speakers are in, a Pioneer deck DVD receiver and the speakers are 6 1/2" two-way marine loudspeakers by Infinity. I thought they were cool because they are chrome. There is still a ton of stuff left to do, but I can take advantage of the slow down of winter to get this thing further ahead.

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''

Thanks for checking my build out. I was starting to think no one was interested in this thread, but i have been plugging away at this thing. The interior is mostly done. I picked up a new steering wheel from Summit and some new headlights, turn signals and corner light along with some led tail lights. For the last month I've spent smoothing the bed and building a speaker box with two 15'' subs to port though the cab. I'll try to get my pictures updated in the next week or so.

Thanks bro. It's so worth the work, but to be honest the fun is in the build.:metal:

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''

Well the week has been hard. The flames are gone, except the hood, and the body is black primer. That was so hard to sand off something I spent so much time painting, there is no going back. I am keeping the hood to hang in my cave. I also made new inner fenders and splash guards for the bed. Body work sucks.

man, you make it look easy! thanks for all the detailed pics, they will help me out on my 95, i love how these trucks can be c-notched so deep and still keep the bed floor intact. im hoping i can c-notch mine with 20's and get close to laying out with a full bed floor.....love your truck and look forward to more pics!

Thanks for checking out my build thread. A super c-notch it gives a couple more inches than a bolt-on. With 20" wheels and low profile tires it will come close to laying out. I did cut-out the first notch and built a monster notch that is 7'' deep. I wanted to lay out on 22's.:metal:

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''

This week I've been Working on the front fenders. We have had warmer weather here in Utah; it's been a colder than usual winter. I did promise pics. Here is the sub box I built. Test fit, even had it hooked up. Yeah, it thumps. I used some door seal and some vinyl for a flexable seal between the cab and the bed.

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''

I have to apologize for the slow update; things have been crazy busy here. I was out of town for work for what was supposed to be 3 weeks. But that rapidly turned into 6 weeks and finished at 8 weeks. That blew my completion schedule giving me 3 weeks to get my truck done. The good thing, being out of town so long forced me to put in tons of hours on the truck. In 3 weeks, I had it primed, blocked, painted and put back together and I drove it to the Severed Ties vote in meeting. From there it took 2 weeks to cut and buff the thing. I will have pictures after July 1st and I'll go through in detail of all the things that I've done.

Good news? It's DONE. It's back together. It drives. It drags. It throws sparks.

Radiator support: I welded most of the small holes and painted the whole thing black. The inner fenders are filled and smoothed.

Re: Project ''Second Time Around''

The sliding back window was a pain in the rear. I ended up putting a hammer through it and yanked it out. The solid rear window was cleaned and tinted. I started painting back of the cab first.
