The mirror is the original. I cleaned and polished it. It was better, but not perfect.

Disassembled some buckles this evening, for through cleaning. Ever wonder why your buckles don’t work properly?

Looking to get three point belts in the middle row of my 83 suburban...to replace just lap belts. I found the retractor part on eBay....but not the female buckle ends...
Will 1990 male belts fit into 1983 female belt buckles?

Plastic buckles will only take the longer & more narrow male end of the retractor side. Pic 1
Metal buckles will only take the shorter & wider make end. Pic 2

Those were done in the 78 Green. There’s several shades of green, based on the year.

The greens are hard to find, almost as hard as the Charcoal Black. Difference with your 81 green, it’s a lot lighter that the 78 green. And they should have Metal Buckles, which is nice. A lot of times the plastic buckles have sun rot, which those did have some.
I did a seat once in the 81 green, this will give you a better idea of what that shade of green looks like. The vinyl and the seatbelt bezel plastic is the best representation of the 81 green.

Wow, those do look black (it may just be the photos) but both my 84 and 87s with charcoal interior are a true dark grey.

As always, great work!

You are correct. The webbing is black. They want the casings to be black, to match their interiors, that are black. Now when I did my Charcoal Black belts, I did the casings in Charcoal, to match my Charcoal interior.

Completed these Burgundy belts for someone. Through cleaning and freshening up. I did find a broken piece that hold the counter balance. That would explain why the one retractor wasn’t working the way it should. Got it replaced with a good one, that wasn’t broke.

Completed a set of Blue belts for someone. These guys were dirty. The webbing was stiff from years of muck build up on the webbing. Mounts were rusty. Buckle emblems were pretty worn, so those were replaced with new ones.
Here are the Before pics.
