Hey Tug, Check out the Victory's also. You get more for your money. Don't get me wrong though, I love Harleys.

Here's the Cross Country

Yes I talked to guy on a Cross Roads one day here in town, beautiful bike. He got it used from his neighbor for 3k with only a couple thousand miles on it. Said it was the best 3,000 dollars he ever spent.

One of my problems is that I'm a bit on the healthy side. I see big guys riding Sportsters and such and they look like bears on a tricycle. I want to avoid that if possible. Road King is a good sized bike for me I think?

Strodder 02-04-2011 11:25 AM

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle

The Road King is smaller in size than my Roadstar. I have a couple of friends that have one. If I got a Harley I would go for the 103 engine. I also have many friends that have Roadstars that are 6'4" and up. They all love there bikes. You can find used ones from 4K up to 10K.
This is my 03 Silver Edition that I made into an UltraStar. I wanted to upgrade to a Harley or Cross Country with the Batwing Fairing, trunk, bigger bags, and radio. Here's what I started with. Only spent $2,300 instead of $23,000. I loved my bike, and love it even more now. I would ckeck out the used Roadstars for sale. You will save a tone of money and have a great bike.

$2,300 later

No worries.

That's a very nice bike but for my personal tastes I like it better before.
I do get your point about the cost savings.

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle

I had it that way since almost new. I needed a change. We are travelling longer distances, and this is perfect for us now. Works for me. I wish I had another one, I would make it a full custom.

Beeings that I am at work, I am kinda limited to what I have on my screensaver,, But here are a couple from and oregon ride in 2006. first one is on HWY101 south of Astoria and the other is Pilot Butte at bend where we based our rides from my buddies place. I made 1750 miles in 6 days time.. 470 of those was in one day going from portland to 101 and down south then cut back over through Salem/Mcminneville and back to bend. That was a hard day. specialy since we had a passenger switching off with us. (Buddies GF) BTW mine is the Blue Buell. not the CBR missing the fairing. lol

Wow! bada$$ KTM... Super Nice.

I was riding near Gold Point NV this week. It's a Ghost town near the NV/CA border Between Beatty, and Goldfield. My friends and I rode a 170 mile loop yesterday. Only about 15 miles of it was pavement in Death Valley Nat Park. The rest was dirt.

7,600' elevation. Looking down into the valley below

Thanks

A little dust won't hurt anything, besides The Strip in the background is a pretty good pic.

Cool pics on your Death valley ride.
