Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
The Brakes....
I decided to upgrade these too... so I got a Wilwood 14" setup front and rear. Really like them. The fronts were no problem... http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...psyxjceknu.jpg For the rear, I had some fitment issues as the caliper mounts hit the trailing arm pads on the diff. #narroweddiffproblems So I setup a ghetto mill consisting of a new router bit, my workbench and some 2x4s and lots of cutting fluid and very carefully, very slowly milled out a relief so that they would clear. http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...psrpdhdfxj.jpg http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...psahhfbadi.jpg http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...pspumllmwa.jpg http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...pstfraqh0e.jpg http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...psrek0qxjo.jpg http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...psp2ymgnbf.jpg |
Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
I really didn't enjoy it.. but I finished up my sectioned and widened tubs to accommodate the 22x12 tires ...
what a lot of work. Check out Hart_Rods solution for this... very slick, would have saved me a ton of time. :waah: For the record... I realize that I have no business doing sheetmetal work or welding either for that matter... http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...psowadgkix.jpg http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/a...psure4xutq.jpg |
Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
I plumbed the chassis for Oil, Air, Fuel, Air, Brakes, finished up the driveline and fabbed up a simple exhaust system and rolled it out into the sun for the first time in a long time..

Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
And lastly.. to finish update this thread, got the cab mounted, mounted the fuseblock and booster/master cylinder... and shot a few pics before rolling it back in the garage and putting it up on blocks for wiring and final assembly.
