My '65 was that same color blue originally and I plan to redo it someday in that color. It came off my family farm about 30 minutes from you in Fredericksburg when I was 16, but that was a long time ago... |

It isn't original paint but Original Color (TAMPICO TURQUOISE METALLIC)
repainted once. Original paint on bed was the old faded paint in great condition. Previous owner stripped down the bed to bare metal and primed. He also removed rear bumper and installed a tail pan on the bed Still has decent original pine wood in bed. Interior is all original and in great shape. Best part is that truck NEVER had any RUST and virtually no dings or dents. Also the rare side trim for 1960 and 1961 is all there, but currently not on truck yet. Three on the tree runs and drives like new. Needs original rims and caps to really look outstanding. Notice the LOW vin # 299th 1961 truck made Check out a couple more pics. |
Re: 60-66 Blue
Neat truck. I suspected it was probably repainted. It's rare to see any 60-66 with good factory paint still intact... especially a 60-61. And extra-especially in a rare metallic color like Tampico Turquoise!

Ole Blue a couple of days before leaving for Columbus for the Goodguys Nationals a couple of weeks ago. 1966 454/Th350. Haven't converted the rear to 5-lug yet. Now renamed Lucille (Loose Wheel) after the left front decided to exit the vehicle at 65 mph on the interstate. Fortunately the body work has not been started yet. Poor LF fender needs some additional attention now beyond the basic rust repair. Fortunately only minor damage to the left lower control arm. She stayed home and I took the oval window VW instead. I thought my son tightened the lugs and he thought I did. Tough lesson learned, but could have been much worse. Won't make that mistake again.

Re: 60-66 Blue
Ouchhh! Luckily it wasn't worse. Hopefully the wheel and tire didn't get anyone.

Re: 60-66 Blue
Fortunately no one was around so no others involved. I was quite thankful for that.
Yeah it has a rather aggressive rake. It is really hard to find tires for those tiny wheels. :-) |
