Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
72MARIO - Thanks for asking but I haven't had any time to work on it. It will more than likely be a few months before I will get around to it.
I just got done watching the first episode of POWERNATION: Truck Tech involving the installation of a LBZ Duramax and Allison combo in a 1987 C10 short bed. :metal: :metal: :metal: |

I know it's not a Chevy and it's not like I have a lot of spare time, but the price was right! That is probably how most of our projects get started. I may one day put it in the "Alternate Tinkering" section.

Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
That would have been my guess, what year? Does it still run?
|
Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
I think it is a '36 and not sure when it was run last. It would need some work to get it there.

Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
It would be really cool to slam that body on a newer school bus or FL70 chassis.

Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
Hey that tractor trailer combo would be cool to haul the wheelers in, get that put together and bring it this summer to the dunes!!

He really likes riding it, his legs are too short to pedal it yet so he just walks it around so far. Just got back from a fun bike trip to Mesquite Nv with my nephew and some friends. They like to go down there a couple times every winter, first time for me. James, you and Cody will have to go down with us next winter. The view out of our room was great! The weather even cooperated, was mid 60's every day. Rode around on some cool "Martian landscape" looking stuff for 3 days.

Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
That looks like it was a pretty cool trip!

Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
Mike- that looked like it was fun. We are getting closer to giving you dates for our St. Anthony's dune trip. I have to work around football and basketball camps that my kid wants to go to. I will PM you with the dates as soon as we can firm them up.

Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
No progress to report on this project. I did however buy '06 GMC with a Duramax/Allison combo and I have to tell you that I am impressed with it. Time will tell but one day I may be doing a Dmax/Allison swap into something.???

Re: 89 GMC Cummins conversion
Cool. Any D-max pics?

Thanks Ryan.
Here are some better pictures. It is a SLT model with all the bells and whistles and runs like it has been modified a little. :metal::metal: |
