No Problem, thanks for trying to help!

Our supplier uses 2 different types of senders under the same part number. your tanks will have 1 of the 2 senders pictured below. the power wire goes to the middle post and the ground wire either goes the smaller lug or you have to use one of the mounting screws.

Hey Dave,

Have you talked to UPS yet since I spoke with you on the 22nd. I will try and take some pics of what we were discussing so you can have a better idea of what I am talking about.

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Dave, I was wondering if you have built any for a 65 swb stepside. I'm really wanting to get one of your tanks so I can have some stereo where the old tank sits. Anyone on this site have one for a 65?

Clyde65 11-15-2010 11:45 AM

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Impalaboy,

They should work just fine, these should have no problem fitting 63-72 step or fleets. You can thumb through the thread and Dave put some measurements up and you can verify.

I will be getting one when they do the next GB in the spring.

Tanks look great Dave... can't wait to get mine installed.

Question... anyone got pictures of one of Dave's tanks with a hidden hitch installed?

Thanks

Hello, do you by chance still have the side fill non efi, and if so how much and is it still the discounted price? Will it work for efi external pump?

Thanks chris.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

to anyone with one of these tanks completely installed, plumbed, etc.....thats "bed fill"....show us some pics of how you did the bed? Is there a door in one of the planks with the filler below...or did you flush mount something in the wood plank?

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

Dave, has anyone adapted one of these into a 73-87? I might be interested in another EFI tank for my 78 soon.

Edit: NVM I scrolled up to post 332

Any mods to make it fit that frame? I see the mounting brackets are different.

Hey Dave, what kind price difference is there during the group buy? Is it the 10% you quoted above? I'm interested in a non-efi, 90 degree feeder w/ sending unit. Thanks

Also, my mechanical fuel pump will work fine, correct?

I know the group buy is on the way but the truck has the bed off right now and is on the lift while I am doing the disc swap. Now is just the perfect time to do this swap. Gonna call Monday and get one built or on the way.

We are planning it as we speak. I will know better once we get back from the 3 day Winter Extravaganza at the Sumter County Fairgrounds this weekend the 18th 19th 20th. If anyone is local stop by our booth.

Re: Boyd Welding-67-72 Rear Mount Aluminum Tank

I have a question on the safety vent. Would the hose barb on the safety vent be used for the fill vent hose on a side fill? If I fill the tank and the fill hose gets full of fuel such that the fuel level is higher than the top of the tank does the fuel safety vent leak?

Will the fill vent hose connected to the safety vent hose barb allow air into the tank as the fuel gets used?

Also, my electric fuel level gauge came with a 200-34 ohm sender (i'm pretty sure I got that right). Would the price of my tank be less since I don't need the 0-90 ohm sender?

Anxiously awaiting the group buy!!

Mel

Definitely interested in the group buy as well.....needing a tank for my project.

Does anyone have any pictures of this tank installed on a 67-72 1/2 ton? Interested to see how far down the tank hangs and how visible it is with rear bumper installed.
