where was your truck originally sold?

So, who knows where there trucks were originally sold... and is that dealer still there?

I just discovered that my one ton was originally sold at;
Colony Chevrolet Co
1644 Lancaster Ave
Paoli PA 19301

And my first longhorn, was sold at;
Yingling Chevrolet Company inc
300 South Topeka Ave
Wichita Kansas 67202

A web search shows nothing on Colony Chevrolet, and a member on here verified Yingling being closed down years ago. :(

So, any one else have this info?

Re: where was your truck originally sold?

Don't remember the dealerships name, but my truck had the original step bumper on it that had the dealer name on the DS and said BROWNSFIELD, TEXAS on the PS. Probably should have kept the bumper, but it was really fugly.

Re: where was your truck originally sold?

I`d love to get my hands on a dealer-stamped bumper.

Re: where was your truck originally sold?

I'll have to verify when I get home, but I think my bumper says Stroud Chevrolet / Henderson, TN. May be way off, though. Bought it in Jackson, TN, so...

Mine is from Astoria, OR. it stayed there until last year, when I brought it to her new home in Portland, OR.

The dealership is still there. I have the original Bill of Sale, Owner's Manual, Original finance company paperwork, and the original down payment money order, plus a few other things that came with.

Mine is from ACE Chevrolet. But don't know where they are located. I think my dad was the second owner of this pickup. I should ask him if he knows for sure.

Re: where was your truck originally sold?

Mine was first sold in Auburn Maine, about 30 miles from here. It's likely that the truck was in New Hampshire a few times but I doubt very much if it's even been in Mass.

That's going to change! I see Hershey, Carlisle, and a couple other places on the horizon!

My 70 was originally sold not too far from here in Utica, MS at a place called Hubbard Chevrolet, which I don't see listed any more.

Well, my '72 Blazer was sold from the following:

Burr Motor Company
30 West Main, Box G
Salina, UT 84654

My '68 one ton was originally sold out of a dealership in Ft. Worth, Texas. Not sure which one. I've got the Protecto-plate, etc., but nothing that shows the dealerships name.

all my trucks were built at the same plant in califronia. Don't know where any of them were sold at though. How do you find out? Hey Fatback, there isn't a dealership in Moorpark anymore, but I'm pretty sure your truck was sold from William Morris Chevrolet. They are located in simi valley now.

Hard to read in the small pic, but mine was sold at Littrell Chevy in Athens, Alabama. I'm pretty sure it no longer exists.
Was sold in August, 1971 and the guy traded in a 1966 Ranchero for it.

My 72 was sold Mar.26 / 72 from Hall Chevrolet in Prosser , Wa . Another member from that area tells me the're still going strong . The paperwork shows the truck was sold to Benton City Mint Farms , apparently there long gone . Should have been car dealers instead of farmers , lol , jk.

I have the original paperwork and protecto-plate on mine too. The original owner included the original documents with the truck paperwork. It still lives in the same town it was bought new, Whitefish, Montana. So to protect the heritage I have changed the color, the wheelbase and to a different year front end... The old guy that owned it would roll over in his grave if he saw it now, specially the air bags and big wheels. :(

My '69 C-10 was made in NY and sold at Don Steves Chevrolet in La Habra California. I have all the paperwork form the sale. The radio ads say that Don Steves Chevrolet is "the biggest Chevy dealer in La Habra", in reality he's the only Chevy dealer in La Habra.
My '70 was built in Fremont California, do not know where it was sold.

PA Dealership Info:

I remember Colony Chevrolet but they must be closed now because I can't find anything on them anywhere. The only listing I found was for Colony Motor Cars in Lancaster but I doubt they're the same.

Weed is still open. http://weedchevy.com/

My truck was built in St. Louis and has a dealership bumper on it from Smith Bros. Chevrolet from some town west of Dallas, Texas. I can't think of the name at the moment.
