WOW!
I Love everything except the air cleaners. You have a sweet "high dollar" chassis build and the engine is amazing,... but the air cleaner set up kills it for me. Put a nice Billet Specialties billet air cleaner on top of that big block,... |
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
That's a damn nice chassis.....Jim

Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Wow that is one stout looking chassis.

Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the comments. We have been working on this frame for about a year. There have been alot of hours put into this build. The motor is a 496 stroker, pushing 600hp, and 550 ft lbs torque. The trans is a 400 Turbo, custom built to handle the hp and torque of the motor. The rear end is a custom ford 9 inch round back with 370 posi gears. Here are a few more pics. Renegade |
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis

Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
"Sick" is also used here in Australia as another word for Cool or Awesome mainly with the younger lot.

Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Renegade, what front coil overs did you use? We were thinking about going that route. I have seen ones from Heidts, QA1 and a couple others.
Thanks Bernie |
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
That is one nice frame, what size rims and tires are those and what back spacing.
|
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Holy air filters batman!
Is that a progressive automotive x member? |
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
i love the wat you utilized the existing frame to narrow rear ! looks awesome i wish i would have done mine.. also i see your 4 link bars have grease fittings .i like that too . did you add them ?
|
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Hi,
I used QA1. I had used them in the past and liked them, so I went with them on this build. Renegade |
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Hi, the wheels are 15 x 15 Billet Specialties Street Lites with Mickey Thompson radials 18.5 x 29 on the rear with 5.5" back spacing. The front is the same in 15 x 8 with Mickey Thompson radials with 3.5" back spacing.
Thanks, Renegade |
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Hi,
The x member is a Progressive Automotive. Great quality and easy to install. Thanks, Renegade |
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Thanks for the comments RatRod.
We added the grease fittings as a after thought. I am glad we decided to add them though. Thanks, Renegade |

Hey Guys,
We just got done with the exhaust set up and the first couple of custom running board brackets. The exhaust and the brakets are going to be ceramic coated to match the headers. The brackets are made of heavy wall stainless. Renegade |

Nice chassis....Jim

Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Almost too pretty to cover up!
|
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
Did you look at running the exhaust through the frame X member, I'm hoping to do that on mine.
|
Re: 50 Chevy Trck Chassis
duwem,
We looked at several different routes for the exhaust but inside the frame was just to busy. We found a tip design we thought would look good coming out at the rear of the running board and went to work. The trans cooler is actually now mounted inside the x-member at this point. We liked the space for air flow. These exhaust tips are going to be the biggest I've ever fooled with as they span the width of the running board plus some length for paint protection. I'm sure Renegade will post some pics when we get further along. Thanks for the great comments all! Fab1 |
