Re: Show Us Your Lits
I thought that`s what it said back there.Well,it`s an accessorized truck.I guess they`re saying a rancher could get the emblem from the dealer and stick it on his truck.I actually had that thought when I first saw that emblem and didn`t know what it was. Here`s another.I wonder how long it took that truck to rust out?Santa Monica Mountains in the background:

Re: Show Us Your Lits
The longhorn pictured up top is a drawing. I have a few pieces of factory lit that shows the longhorn badge in the wrong location on 69's, but these were all pre-preduction vehicles, so nothing was set in stone.
As for the hub caps... it's a drawing, and either they never expected anyone to scrutinise it this much, or the artist was sniffin glue. I'd post everything I have... but wow, that'd take a while. |

ok... you guys ready to see how bad I got it?
I'll start with truck adds, some framed on the wall, some just framed awaiting room to be hung, and still more awaiting frames to be placed into, residing in document protectors in a 3 ring binder. All these ones are longhorn adds, or at least mention the longhorn. |

oops, the 2 50th annv longhorns there are actually a brochure.
Anyways... on with the madness; 1 longhorn add, 2 longhorn articles, and 2 non-longhorn adds. Yes, I devide trucks into 2 classes, longhorns........ and 'other' ;) Oh yeah, and that 2nd article there, is actually a 3 page article that my girlfriend got me for X-mas. Does she rock or what? |

These (along with the 3 above) are restoration packets from GM. Look on the FAQ on how us in the US can get them for free, and canadians can get them for 50 bucks. I actually have more that I am unable to locate at the moment. Plus there is the 3 owners manuals (70 and 72 chevy, and 69 GMC) then all the paper work that came with my first 70, recall papers, order form, option list paper, warranty booklet, then the build sheet from my one ton and a few print outs of others build sheets... I'm sure I have more around here somewhere |
Re: Show Us Your Lits
the "kids" in the back of that 70 pick up are probably all in their mid 50s now. ahhh the good ol days.

Re: Show Us Your Lits
I like the one,"30 Years Ahead Of It`s Time."It`s all good,I love it.Is the "Silver Book" an ordering book?I have on of those for`71.SeeTen,that`s your truck! Here`s a repeat of yours I had ready to load, but got distracted yesterday.I experimented with resolution and came up with the automatic setting that`s been used.I`ll send copies, not sure if I can get any better. Then something different,an old Car Craft magazine,1956.

Re: Show Us Your Lits
This is an experiment.I have brochures in a big dealer book and it would be a pain to remove.I`m trying the whole book, top up,and thick blanket over it all:

Here's some of mine. I keep most of these in a large binder - have some other loose I didn't include. I also have as many or more of the 1960-1966 models. No rude comments, please - I know I have a problem!!

1st pic- A letter from D. P. Mathis, Director of the Service Dept for Chevrolet Motor Division to all Chevrolet Dealer Service Managers. Was in the front cover of the TH350 transmission book. It's dated January 19, 1970 and says additional copies of the manual are not availible and to keep this as a reference copy. I ain't sure but this is probably hard to find.
