Short Bed or Long Bed
1 Attachment(s)
I imagine that most would prefer a Short Bed. But, who knows, we may all be in for a surprise. I prefer a Long bed myself, but i could be prejudiced.....
By-the-way, compliments on OLDRED's '67 Short Bed. Hope he doesn't mind me using his beautiful truck as the illustration. |
I prefer a shortbed, but of course love all these old trucks!!
I LIKE EM ALL:D
If its a nice longbed truck,it wont be for ever,it will get a short frame and box.not a long fan,but of course i dont dislike them.
For a hot rod, like what is pictured, I'll have to say shortb ed, but I think I have to agree with my wife (for once) and say a short step would look better than either of those pics.
I think I'm the oddball I like lwb slammed and swb lifted
Long beds anyday. Shortbeds are too stubby looking, the box is totally out of proportion with the cab. As far as Shortboxes being a better rod, that is only a matter of opinion.
There are a couple of long beds running around Garland that are clean & mostly original that I like alot but my first choice would be shorts. I would like to make a long dually that's slammed one of these days.
Longbed is more practical, you can't fit a cord of wood in a shorty. I realize we're not all here to use our trucks like trucks, but.. :)
Hhhhmmmm, no longhorn option?

What about the mini- and maxi-beds? :)

For an everyday truck, I'd have to say long. For a toy, I'll take a short bed (maybe even a short step):)

What I dont understand is that there has been over 150 visits to this post while I am replying, but only 22 have voted. Whats up with that?

I had a friend in new mexico, had a longbed like myself. He had a personalized license plate that read:
"So Long" That about says it for me, too..... |

Short bed rules fleet side
Short Fleet! Or a longhorn! One for play one for worK!
long bed, or longhorn.... I'd love a longhorn but still havn't found any that are affordable here... I don't really disklike short beds, I'd like one, but I won't shorten a long into one.
:bowtie: Shortbeds for a streetrod, longbeds on a 4x4. But i still prefer shorties !! :flag:
Well I have one of each, but I definity like the longbed better.Maybe thats because I grew up around the 72 cheyenne longbed that my father bought brand new :)
But I like em all in any style stock, modified, lowered ,lifted. |
I love the short beds......................the long beds are too long but, out of the blue i like the longhorns(LIMO).............................Jack

amen, 72 super
I like em' both. It matters more to me how well they are kept up or built. I think when fixed up good, they both look great!

Sorry, gotta go with a longbed. Need to be able to fit sheets of plywood in it and close the tailgate. Now if it was strictly for play, I'd probably say shortbed, less weight to get moving and easier with a one piece driveshaft to get the horses to the ground.

I prefer the long bed myself. It can haul a lot more crap than the shorties. But I would love to get my hands on a short step for the wife. Theae 67-72's looks great, no matter what kind of bed is on them.
I originally preferred the looks of a shorty, but found the long bed more practical for hauling stuff. I thought the long bed looked a bit disproportional to the front end and cab, but a tool box smooths that out a bit. As you can see, I have mixed emotions, but either way, gotta be a fleetside.
