Oh well,

11/24/07 2:40am this morning I heard a loud bang and looked out the window and MAN!!!
He hit the fence & all 3 of my vehicles including the 72 Burb!!! I will get pics asap. Luckily I was still asleep and if it was an hour later I would have been going to work at the Airport.....Doh!

SUCKS!!!!!

more pics, oh a gun was involved...21 year old just got pulled over leaving a bar and the Officer let him go, next stop, ran through neighbors yard then into mine.....

3 more pics, the white cars is my wife's and it was parked behind the suburban, next to the trash can. notice no skid marks, it had to be airborn to move it 20-30 feet.........

The highway patrol told me that and he has it on film, the city cop once he saw who the guy was, he said "I told you" and said he had just pulled him over and gave him a ticket(don't know what ticket was for yet)....

ouch, that really sucks... atleast he didn't kill anyone. I would get a lawyer involved and be sure to blame him and the city (cop that let him go). I hate to sue but I think you have reason to be a little upset with them....

you know his insurance, if he has any, will lowball any reapirs or replacements on your cars...

I hope they hang him. He had a gun in his van and he was drinking. That spells big trouble. Get a lawyer, it sounds like he will be put under the jail.

Wow...Those are some incredible pictures. I can just see your insurance company blaming you because of the way your rides were parked. Or him suing because if your fence and cars werent in the way he wouldnt have had this "accident".

Drunk drivers make me sick. No different than someone taking a loaded gun and closing their eyes and just start shooting. They may or may not hit someone.

I hope they only let him out to go to work. And the only reason for that is to pay you every red cent he gets in pay untill he has you paid off. I really hate drunk drivers:mad:. All I can say is sorry man

My god that makes me sick. I hope you come out alright with the insurance and you get fully compensated for all your losses. :( Shame that it could have been prevented if the first cop had done his job.

I agree with everyone that said get a lawyer! There is no way an insurance company is going to deal right with you. Unless you had full coverage and a declared value, they are going to find some ugly beaten 72 burb and tell you yours is worth the same $300-$500. Hope you saved all the receipts from the build. Could do a lawyer a lot of good. as for the P.O.S. that hit that beautiful Burb, I hope he finds himself at the mercy of lots of boyfriends while in jail!

you're much more of a man than i ever will be... i would have shot the mother f'er!!! someone rear ended my impala a year ago and their insurance low balled me; so i sued the s.o.b. and come to find out... they can't pay me because they have a kid and wife to support at home and he make minimum wage, and he owns nothing... i paid out of my own pocket to fix everything and my damn lawyer fees... because i was told not to cash the insurance check and then it expired... etc... sorry for babbling on; hope everything works out for you!!

There sure do seem to be a lot of our trucks/'burbs getting smashed into while parked lately. It's a pretty sickening trend. Like everyone else has said, at least you and your family are o.k. Still sucks about your 'burb though.

WOW... sorry for your losses... Since a weapon was involved does that make it a felony? Maybe a stiffer sentence and better odds for you? I saw a DUI chase trash three cars at once (in a Geo Tracker of all things) and he kept going for about a mile. I gladly went to court for that! Glad you + family weren't hurt, could have been in the house!

If it hasn't been done yet... get a classic car company to apraise the burb for a pre-damage value. you'll pay them 100 - 150 bucks, but if you have documentation that your burb was not just an "old work truck" as the insurance company will say.... then they have no option but to pay you the value of it.



Lets just hope the POS had insurance.

Wow that sucks about your burb. I can safely say i know exactly how you feel. Just be glad you or your family wasn't out in the yard when he ran it down.... Oh and good luck with the insurance thing, if he was drinking and driving he probably doesn't have enough sense to realize he needs insurance... At the end of the day you gotta say to your self... it could have been worse. Thats whats been keeping me going this entire month. Mabee this will kick start the Truckers Against Drunk Drivers bumper sticker....
