Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

I bet i could count the times on one hand (after high school) that i drove down the road in my old truck with the radio cranked.. i just listen to the motor and listen for new sounds or try to diagnose the ones that i can't figure out!!

You could do what most women do and turn the radio up so you can't hear those strange noises.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

nope, It hasn't worked since I have owned the truck.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

Yes,I love listening to music "and" the sound of my truck. From time to time I leave the music off and/or wind the window down to do a sound check on my truck's condition.

Nope, the truck's too loud!! :metal:

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

What radio? At this point even if I had a radio, it would have to be pretty loud to compete with the exhaust. No insulation or carpet, and dumped flow 40's make for a pretty loud ride! One day I will put an audio system in there, there are just many other things higher on the list.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

Nope, I don't listen to the radio in any of my vehicles. The only time I miss listening to the radio is when I am driving the '92, because the radio doesn't work, lol.

I have a factory AM/FM with a stock style speaker but I can not hear it over the exhaust so I rarely turn it on.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

Yeah I do, but prefer the music that the motor makes.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

I have a nice cd player in mine that hardly gets used because of the exhaust noise in the cab. But when I do its usually some heavy metal!:metal:

Life without radio or music would suck.. in my humble opinion of course!

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

I have mine on all the time, BUT just as back ground noise, the exhaust is the main chorus.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

I surely will have the radio on most the time when my truck is finished. but still love to listen to the rumble of the motor and exhaust along with my gear drive.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

My 69' stepside is nice and quiet inside, but loud outside, so I do listen to the radio most of the time I drive it. But if I open the cutout up, forget it! LOL If I'm driving one of the 4 other trucks besides my 69' in my sig, well forget the radio there way to loud to even hear it while driving around!

Even though I do not turn a radio on in my truck I still hear music, lol.

Driving these old trucks bring back so many memories of California Cruisin' listening to the tunes of the 60's and of course the voice of the "Wolfman".

Shows you how old I am, lol. I know a lot you never heard the voice of the "Wolfman" around the midnight hour.

Oh, the memories.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

A stock am radio with the stock dash mount speaker adds a lot of character to any old vehicle IMO.

I put a "NOS" Radio Shack FM converter in my '69 Camaro....

Although perhaps you had to grow up in that "era" to truly appreciate what I am trying to say here.....

I drive a semi for a living,10 hours a day,5days a week.So I listen to the radio at work 50 hours aweek. When I drive my truck on weekends the sb running through the flow master exhaust is sweet music to my ears, dont need the radio.:chevy:

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

These trucks were made for work so any speed above 30 mph I lose my AM radio and I just turn it off. They weren't too concerned about road noise on these trucks.

The main reason I moved my gas tank was to make room for speakers...hellz yes I listen to music.
I respect the point that you make and salute your choice of tunes.

Re: Do you even listen to the radio in your truck?

In my '70 the PO had an aftermarket radio cassette. I used to listen to all of my :metal:Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Deep Purple, Cheap Trick, Van Halen, Krokus, and Black Sabbath :metal:cassettes. When the cassette player stopped working the whole unit came out and I never replaced it. That's when I started to listen to the flowmaster symphonies and never even thought of replacing my radio.
