Heres a few of the 55 my grandpa built. Just sits in the garage. its on a 64 chevy truck frame, has a 327/350 cambo, painted it white with a blue pearl and many other mods. All built by him.

richards did you do the body work.. from what I can see
sectioned the cab.. \
chopped top
lenghten the read finders
frenched in the cady tail lights
just to name a few... great work..

hey does any body know where to find/ or what to type into "google" to get the chrome strips that go around the "ARROWS" on our fleetside trucks??? been trying to find some for years. like the ones in big-al-71's pics he posted of that *****in brown ride! i need them so i can do the paint scheme i want to do. thanks!

Weasel its not repoped, and if you can find it in good condition it commands a primo price.
There was a guy on the forum that was talking abou selling his entire bed with the trim on it. He was going with a flatbed or something. He may still be around. Ask on the 47-59 forum.

thanks meter swinger i'll look for him. thanks 57truckguy, how is someone born with the tallent to MAKE HIS OWN TRIM??!!!! it's all i can do to pick what colors i want on the old thing!:lol: thats talent! so did they come on certain trim models? and which ones i wonder?

All I know therevwas an article in hotrod magazine about making it from trim salvaged from the jy or maybe rod an custome mag. He did some hammering and silver soldering on ss trim. Looked real nice. Thisvwas years ago at a show in Chicago

I had a picture of that Ironworks' truck in my cubicle at work. Along with the one that Hot Dog Customs did.

This is my 56 but I should clarify some details on things. In this shot, the body is blocked up on the floor with some rims and tires stuffed under it as a mock up. The frame in the fore ground of the picture is that actual frame for this truck.

I decided to go with an old school static drop by using a 3" drop axle along with 3" drop mono leafs up front and a pair of reverse eye 6" drop mono leafs in the back end. Then I combined that with some 255 60 R 15's in the back and some 215 60 R 15's up front to get the drop you see in this most recent picture
