here is some of the stripping process before body and paint work
the worst of the rust was a little on the passenger side floor board and some rust inside the hatch.

i pulled the frame out and replaced it with a 3/4 ton 4x4 frame from this white 1972 burb

its amazing what some wood, 2 bottle jacks and a floor jack can accomplish

i actually wanted hugger orange but recieved some bad information and ended up with the factory orange (tangier) instead. i like it but it is a little but more of a show color.

we also kept the original wood bed, it was in amazing shape

That's kinda funny. I was going for his color but he put the wrong paint description in his blog he said it was original tangier but his is actually hugged (red orange) but I love both colors

Re: project pacific wonder

wow for a daily dirver its really nice! but i have a question. (newbie question) what's the deal with the grounding system? is it necessary?

Coboyle04 03-12-2012 07:34 PM

Re: project pacific wonder

no it is not necessary it is usually used in other hot rods that dont have metal body panels but having to chase bad grounds on all of my old vehicles has been an uneccesary hassle. this is a simple fix for a small price and it will be nice to have all the grounds easily located.
