Was after this truck from the original owner's widow for 16 years. He died in 1989. She drove it a little bit in the winters. It was a farm truck and even had a stock rack for hauling cattle on it. My sons and I are the builders. We have built many cars and trucks together.

Inside bed picture. The truck had 43,444 original miles on it before the restoration started. Bought it in early October 2013. We only have a month or two in the winters to build them, but were about 7/8 done with it now.

The truck was bought new in Reno Nevada. They moved to Idaho in 1983. The rust issues we dealt with were the rear cab corners, rear cab mounts, both door bottoms and the hardest one was below the rear sliding glass window. Went to a local junk yard and they ruined a cab for $35.

The truck will be updated and driven daily. It will pull the planes out of the hanger every morning.

Updates include powder coated frame and various other body parts.

4" lift with custom built springs from Alcan. The back set have a little over 4" to prevent rear droop. Also moved the center pin back 1" for better rear wheel to fender lip alignment.

Stroked and bored the engine to a 383 ci. Good thing I overhauled the engine, the old steel head gasket were letting water seep into the cylinders from all the sitting around. Used a new stoker crank and rods. Bumped the compression up to 9.2 and install a torquer cam. Also installed Pertonix Igniter II in the distbutor. Building the engines is my favorite part.

Install a tach dash from Tom TBONE1964.

Installed a tilt steering column Kevin Kevs Classics

Retro Sound stereo with blue tooth, Retro sound in dash speaker (they say use the 5x7 for A/C pickups. We did it, but won't again. We'll use the 4x10 next time) Alpine 4" in upper cab corner and 2 Alpine 8" subs with built in amps under the seat.

Running the old 15x10 Mickey Thompson Challenger wheels with the M/T Baja MTZ 33x12.5R15 tires.

Powder coated frame with Inline tube SS brake and fuel lines. Have had a lot of leaking issues with this set of line. Inline tube has been good to work with, but slow with result. In the past we've never had an issue with their stainless steel lines.

American Autowire classic update kit. We usually use these kits in all our builds, including LS and Electronic transmission vehicles. Use their Highway series in hotrods. On the K10 used the AAW Classic Update kit with a non anti diesel original wiring harness on the A/C system.

Transfer Case with all new seals and gaskets.

It looked great inside.

Used old Chevy Red/Orange colored paint which is darker/deeper than regular Chevy Orange like on the engine. Hard to see the difference in the pictures. In person it's easy to see and looks real nice.

The A/C evaporation box before my son Clay restored it. He only changed the fan and expansion valve. Then cleaned, polished and clear-coated it. Sent the POA valve to Benny Sanchez in Texas for a R134 calibration.

Thanks, mine also. I'm a Montana native. Grew up in Hardin and moved to Idaho in 87. Actually have some NOS parts that I think are in Laurel for pickup or to be shipped. A front bumper and inner grille for our other 72.

Thought about a 2" or 2 1/2" lift, but couldn't help myself and went for the 4".
Glad I did, it looks even better in person.

I see in post #11 you mentioned you would use a 4x10 over the 5x7 speaker the next time. What was the reason exactly?

For A/C equipped pickups the room between the upper center vent and front of dash does not allow room for the 5" width. We hacked the crap out of to fit. It originally had a 4x10 that fit tightly, but fit. I let Retro Sound talk me into the 5x7. My mistake. By the way the stereo system is unbelievable good sounding. With the gas tanks behind the seat, stereo options are limited.
