Always a fantastic display of a little bit of everything under the sun that once was in the world of trucks. I ride up with my sign man/pinstriper/mural/trick paint artist friend in his '58 Reo on Friday. This year on our way up he had a an antique canoe to buy he saw the weekend before and to stop by Schwalm's Model A engine rebuilder to sell him a "B" block. Interesting place. The current owner stated off working for Mr. Schwalm and took it over when he retired. That's all they do is Flathead Ford V8 and back and they are the one to get it done by.

After that nice stop, we headed up the rest of the way. Plenty of truck there already, but we got our usual spot in the last field they fill on Saturday when the rest rolls in.

Cool truck as always.

That building looks like an old Gulf Station.

There were well over 600 trucks, maybe 650 or more. I can't get then all, so I try to give a variety. This isn't a custom truck show. Although there are plenty of flashy nice trucks.

Yep, that's an old Gulf station on a country road in Lancaster Co, PA. So that Fruit company is still rolling? I like when they restore and keep the same livery like that.

How about that Plymouth pickup? This Dodge with a sleeper is neat:

I see some trucks every year. I usually pass on them for new truck pictures, but not always. I've shown this GMC before and I'm sure there will be no complaints. Same with the Peterbuilt. This little red flatbed was one of my favorites. That green Chevy is a camper and it's on a later 1t chassis

More great pictures. Good seeing that 9500 Long Nose again. May be one of these years he will paint it, lol. He might be going for that "patina" look, but I was never much of a fan.

I like the little Mack Dump as well. Looks to be about a '36 or '37.

Great pictures as usual, I had forgotten my camera, and was able to take one to send to my family to show the truck made it. Here's our little campsite, my buddy's drive these old Dodge WC's from Bayside, Queens. Didn't get to meet any members, they weren't with their vehicles when I was looking at them. There's always next year, next show.

Oh ok, that was your truck! I regret never walking over there, now. My friend, Chuck, and I talked to your buddies last year on Friday night. Had a couple beers with them. So they've been into those a long time and are friends from way way back? The show passes so fast and this year on Friday we had people stopping by us so we never left the truck. Always great no matter what.

Here's a picture of me, Jimer64, and Rob71 being held hostage:

Bill, He sure has the rest all polished up. The truck appears to be in great shape. I'd like to thik he's waiting to do a really nice paint job. Look close at that Peterbilt, that's his too. That's my favorite Mack Ac, the orange one. It wwas retrofitted with a 4-53 in the '40s

This Mack cabover was interesting. It was a prototype. I think this one was titled, can't recall. That top is unique, I think, and it had this emissions device type of whatchamacallit thingy. Look at that stack!

I'd like to have that C/20

Here's another interesting truck that was for sale. It was probably a former fire truck. It had the 347/Hydraglide w/2spd rear!

This Studebaker was rally cool. I caught the guys unloading it andgot the story of it. It was owned by a Stude dealership and started off being a flatbed till '47. They needed a wrecker so they took the bed off a new 47 pickup and put the flatbed on that to sell. '47s are wider so they had to narrow the bed. Rear wheel track is the same so they added spacers between the bed and fenders. Custom-built out of necessity from Studebakers by a Studebaker dealer to haul Studebakers.

I worked with Tommy, the owner of the command car, he's had it since 85. Last year I came early on Saturday. He ended up buying a 36 1 ton flatbed that was for sale in the loading area, handsome little truck. Wish it was a longer show.

I don't know who MP&C are, but they very well may have built those. Tell me more. All I know is the owner John Vanetta is from here in MD and has been working on that truck for years. I've heard about it and this is the first time it's been out, that I know of.

It really is too short to fully enjoy it all. It's a lot of trucks to see and you need to go over them several times to fully appreciate the one next to the one that grabbed your eye last time. Then there are the people. The friendliest happiest bunch of people gathered in one place. You make friends with those people and some you only see there. Te swap meet, swimming pool, and they offer tours of the Mack plant. We talk about taking that tour, but that's a big whole out of the short day. The show starts on Thursday I think. But 1/2 the trucks are there till Saturday when it seems no sooner has the last one shown, the first one is leaving

You can look way down in our forums in Alternate Tinkerings. They have a thread called (55 wagon progress). If you want to see some real metal working skills. Look far enough into the thread and you will see the truck.
