Steel wheel info
Have a 73’ jimmy and 74’ blazer that I picked up this year. Both completely stock except wheels. I want to restore both to use factory steel wheels for use with dog dish caps. Does anyone know what the exact sizes where from the factory? Were they 15” or 16” and do they cross reference with the k/10 trucks? I’ve also seen the aftermarket steel wheels that use the factory dog dish caps but are wider. Anyone know who makes them?

Re: Steel wheel info
They were 15” from the factory, I do not know the width.
I bought one wheel from “the wheel smith” out of California. I only ordered one to check fitment and quality. Before it was delivered I found a set of CUCV wheels that I bought. So the wheel smith wheel will be my spare. It isn’t a complete factory replacement, but it is very nice looking and available in different widths http://thewheelsmith.net/ |

Re: Steel wheel info
To my knowledge yes, 16” didn’t become standard on half tons until 88....at that point with the use of different offsets on the 4x4 front axles and larger brakes it became necessary
Btw if you look at the wheel smith wheels you will see they don’t have the 4 slots that are between the flat lug part of the wheel and actually air holding portion of the wheel, other than that they are really close to the originals |
