Vintage Sioux Air Impact Wrench

About 3-4 years ago when I started restoring my 1965 C10. My cousin bought me a ½” Craftsman air impact wrench for Christmas. I had an old impact wrench that I remember my father using in his shop when I was a kid. I just thought it was old and worn out. Today I figured out it is still an awesome tool. I was rotating my tires and I am on the last tire when I couldn’t break the lug nuts loose with my pry bar and pipe. So I grabbed the craftsman...didn’t budge it. So I grabbed the ½” Sioux air impact wrench from I believe the 1950s and low and behold, it broke all the lug nuts loose without much effort. The heft of the Sioux was substantial also. It weighed in at 5lbs 13oz to 4lbs 3oz for the Craftsman. To say I was impressed is an understatement. So many times people complain about a tool not performing, rarely do they praise when they work as they should, but this side by side comparison proves that made in America meant something then and still does today. Now I have a new (OLD) go to impact wrench. Sioux tools rocked!

I have an old Sioux air sander that I used in my cabinet business, they make good stuff.
