62 suburban doir handle question

On my 62 to open the doors from the inside i have to push the lever down its like that on both sides
Is that normal?
Is there something im missing
I pulled the door panel's and they dont seem reversible

Re: 62 suburban doir handle question

Do you have rear barn doors, or are you asking about the front doors?

If the front doors, the handle can be oriented any way you would like, but needs to move the mechanism in a rearwards direction to open the latch. I have my handles pointed downwards, so I pull back to open and forwards to lock from the inside
