Keeping things aligned

Im assuming its ok to talk about vehicles here besides our trucks.

I have a 65 Corvair convertible Im going to be totally stripping down for body work and paint. Corvair is a unibody car and Im going to build a roll around cart for it since all suspension and drive train will be taken off.

Right now the hood, trunk, and doors line up pretty darn good. I want to make sure they go back together the same way. Ive read drilling the door hinges for an alignment pin is the way to go. Do I need to weld braces in the door openings? Any trick to aligning the hood and trunk when finished?

I drill holes when ever I can don’t know about Corvair hoods or trunks not sure witch is witch, is the hood trunk or is the trunk the hood lol. No you don’t need to brace your openings

Welding in bracing will depend heavily on if your having to replace floorboards/rockers and such...

No need to brace a unibody car if you're not cutting it up.
