Here's the '69 C/60 I wanted (so people could ask me the forever stupid question,"what are you gonna do with that?") to buy. I saw it at the junk yard/towing co, that's near my house. They put the complete and running vehicles out for sale. It wasn't put into a spot yet but I went and asked to see if they'd sell it. I'm familiar with the company that owned it,a landscape company (big one) that runs all Chevys and all this green. I coulda had it for $1,500 but just couldn't round it up. The 366 purred like a kitten.

Gas motor ..... air lines for trailer ....... johnson bar ...... I think we could haul a lot of old trucks on a trailer with this :metal:

Re: GM Semis

Tim,

I was hoping that you could have bought that one. Did it finally sell?

special-K 01-30-2013 08:37 AM

Re: GM Semis

It sold within a week. I didn't stand a chance. If I had money,I was the first to ask about it. Woulda been an excellent pickup hauler. The first trailer woulda been a low-boy or Landoll type (and this is someone w/no money talkin' heh heh)

I made the mistake once of parking next to a Cow Palace at a truckstop.

Also seen one with " That may not be rain on your windshield " lettered on the rear. Haha

Y'all keep producing pictures of some trucks that I have never seen before. Tim, that red "Peterson's" Long Nose 9500 sure is nice.

For those who maybe didn't notice, Fred Craig's '63 "Series B" Yellow GMC has a 702 V-12
Gas Engine in it.

I want to point out a pretty rare part on Peterson's Red GMC 9500, which is the Running Board. Most 9500's have Side Saddle Tanks instead. This is the first Long Nose 9500 that I can ever remember that has a Running Board. Notice the Length of it.

This is one of the few machines that my father had when he first started farming. It was originally a shorter wheelbase with a 5th wheel and was used in northern Manitoba. When he started farming in this area, this was considered a large truck to haul grain with. And now, it doesn't even go out of the yard.

I believe it is a 1969 and it still runs with a 6-71 Detroit that had been rebuilt twice.

Re: GM Semis

By the Directional Lights, it is a '66 or a '67. The Emblem on the side of the hood also tells us it is an earlier model. Looks like it has a 5 X 4 Trans. These were real impressive trucks when they first were introduced in the mid '60's, as well as they still are today.
