Axle

For a 72 K10, daily driver, town and highway driving, very little driving off road...
What axles should I put under it? Did chevrolet make auto locking hubs with a solid front axle for any year or body style? What gear ratio should I be looking for?
Any help or opinions will be welcomed. Thanks

Re: Axle

Welcome!!! I`d say look for one with 3.08s if you are staying with 33" or shorter tires and no overdrive. The later 10-bolt front axle had the automatic hub option and those ales swap-in directly. No problem finding a 3.08 one o those, either.I`d only run those with the 33" or less rubber also.

Re: Axle

I would run D44 8lug front with 14FF rear and 3.73s would give you a bit more torque to the ground. Oh and I would not run auto hubs, yuck! A good set of Warn Premiums are much stronger.
