Throttle body interchange from 90's Vortec to LS

While searching for a DBC throttle body I have noticed that the 90's MPI throttle bodies look amazing like a throttle body off of a DBC LS... can it be true? Are they interchangeable?

Re: Throttle body interchange from 90's Vortec to LS

Well the throttle body on the big blocks were the same from 96-04, which would include the "ls" form of the 8.1l, so there is interchange in that sense.

There are also 3 and 4 bolt tb's for the LS motors depending on which one in which year, so if there is any interchange with the older stuff, it would be limited to certain years.

Sorry I can't answer the exact question verbatim, but the above is what I can put together.

As long as we're talking 3 bolt throttle bodies, the bolt patterns are the same. The biggest difference is that the 90s MPFI throttle bodies are made to mount pointing up like a carb. So, the cam on the side is clocked wrong for use pointing forward like all the "LS" throttle bodies. If you put the early TB on an LS intake, the throttle cable would have to come up from the bottom.

The IAC valve and TPS sensors are the same between the two types.
