Cool truck. Thanks for sharing. PO installed the same power steering set up on my 250 powered '69 long stepper. Glad he did.

Very nice. yes, it does make them different trucks to drive. For me there was an additional cost--a gym membership to replace the muscle mass lost in my shoulders after I installed my P/s

That's a sweet little truck. I keep thinking about buffing out the silver on my '69 but haven't talked myself into it. Yet. For comparison if you've thought about wheels:

Re: 69 Chevy Stepside 6 Cyl Power Steering!
Beautiful Truck!!! I love it. What was surprising is how many turns the wheel takes to spin from full left to full right.
I just noticed that fuel filter should be closer to the pump in case it leaks. You wouldn't want the leak near the manifolds. I need to change the location of my filter also. Bill |

Re: 69 Chevy Stepside 6 Cyl Power Steering!
Great looking truck! I've been wanting to perform the same swap on my 69 step side. My truck has the same brackets on the engine already but I didn't realize they were for power steering, I thought they were an A.I.R. pump.
Do you have any details on the swap, such as part numbers or suppliers for the pump, hoses, etc? |
Re: 69 Chevy Stepside 6 Cyl Power Steering!
I love spare tires on the side (like mine). Now it's possible, when I have a flat and have to lift it down from and up to there I won't like it so much anymore.

Man that is one awesome stepside. I have a '69 swb stepside myself and I REALLY dig yours! The orange one is very nice as well.

Re: 69 Chevy Stepside 6 Cyl Power Steering!
It's hard to see in the pictures, is there a bracket that bolts to the PS pump and bolts to the upper bracket? I think if I could locate or fabricate the bracket, I could piece together the remainder of the system with new replacement parts.
