Great Deal...Or Is It?
I have an opportunity to purchase an all original 71 Blazer. It is a one owner rig that was just bought at an estate auction when the original owner passed away. It has 120,000 miles on an original, non-rebuilt engine. The body is very solid with the beginnings of a little bit of rocker panel rust. The paint is very faded after years of setting in the sun. It doesn't have any floor covering and the seats are badly cracked. One door has a large dent on the inside at the top. It needs lots of work to be finished, but the AC blows cold and everything else works well. The asking price is $4995. Is it worth it, should I offer less, and if so how much. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike |
IMO, Sounds like a fair deal. I looked for an all original like you found and paid $4500 with tired 130k motor but solid body and Top. The guy I got it from held it for me and had people offering $5000 sight unseen. 1st gen Blazers seem to be getting harder to find and the good ones get bought up fast.

It's 4wd. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it, just need to sell my 69 first. Anyone interested?

That seems like alot to me. Maybe im just used to the days of old. ?
I wish I still had my old '69 Blazer now! If they are selling for that much, I'd make a killing with mine. It was really nice. Non original low mileage 327, auto, 4X4, hugger orange w/white top. I bought it for $1600 off of a Ford dealership of all places and a few years later, sold it for $1400 because I needed beer money. ------------------ 63 Impala*66 Chevelle SS*69 Chevelle*69 C10 Stepside*71 Cheyenne 20*72 Chevelle Parts for sale: http://www.angelfire.com/trek/mr409/items4sale.html |
