Taiwan Junk from LMC
1 Attachment(s)
My inner door handle on my 70 broke off in my hand the other day, same one that’s been on the truck for Years. Anyway I didn’t have a spare so I ordered one from LMC. $5.25 plus $5 for shipping. It arrived today and would Not fit the splines. You can see in the pic how the splines are flat. Anyway LMC says sorry about that We don’t want it back and we’ll send a refund for the part but not the shipping.
I say Wait a Minute - I have to pay you to send me a defective part?????? She then says Ok I’ll put in a request for shipping also. I’ll let you know how this turns out |
Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
Always better off with a original one even if not as shiny

Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
I have Been (Done ) with LMC for years.
I could go on and on. But I won't, One thing I do remember is, I ordered Headlight bezels and one was Nice (For them anyway). The other one looked like :puke: I called them. They said we get the right side from a Great supplier. If we send you another Left side it will look the same because that Supplier has bad products. Okay Thanks for your Honesty.:exit::exit::exit: I like there Website for research purposes. And I did recently order a pair of seat belt sleeves because a Member here said they were Okay. And they are the only one that sells them.:uhmk: |

Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
I learned the hard way a LONG time ago LMC has a nice catalog and that's as far as I better go with that. Sorry for the bad parts. I may have a decent original you can have if interested but the knob won't be shiny new.

Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
GMC Pauls has the made in USA handles. I have not tried them because I was able to find a Volvo NOS set that somebody here mentioned on the forum as available on eBay. But I've had good luck with stuff from GMC Pauls, and they have mentioned before here on the forum that if there is no good maker for a particular part, they just don't carry that part at all.

Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
So I put the passenger side on the driver side until I get a new one. Found a set on Amazon but don’t have a lot of faith. If they don’t fit I’ll be looking for anyone with originals
Will go from there. I hate this S |

Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
It really sucks when a part is so poorly made it can't even be installed so it can break in a few months
The ole smoke n mirrors of the business makes it hard to know who sells what. Big places like LMC have some exclusive parts, or ones they developed and had produced, then sell to other vendors. Then, LMC might have another part made by the same company as a good vendor like GMC Paul. It would be nice to know who sells which product but these big places have people with no clue on that. If they were honestly concerned with giving their customers the best possible product, such as GMC Paul and other hobbyist vendors, they would provide this information to their contact people...and be sure to offer the best. |
Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
If you broad blanket one company as selling nothing but junk you will limit yourself on future purchases. They all sell junk, period! Some of the replacement parts are only available in junk. The ignition switch is, or was, a good example. Only one company made the replacement switch… and it was the very definition of complete and total junk.
Regarding LMC. I just purchased a 69-70 steel chrome outer grill form LMC. It is a GM reproduction part. It is absolutely gorgeous and it fit nicely. I also bought the inner grill also fits nicely, but the original inner seemed more sturdy, but the inner still looks good and fit nicely. I love and hate all the suppliers. It’s just the way it is. Toss the window crank and try another. I have my original cranks in a box somewhere, but have been running some re-pops for a few years. I have recently puchased several items from LMC that have been nice parts. I just bought hood hinges from Rock auto, they fit and perform better than I hoped. I bought a dash bezel from Brothers(now Holley), it was absolutely disgusting. I called them, they said they were sending another and they asked me to send the ugly one back so they could see it. They try. But they have a warehouse full of parts that are of unknown quality, because the quality and control can change at any time. And parts are not inspected before shipped from the warehouse. It’s just part of the hobby. :chevy: j |
Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
That looks like the door handle on my van. I think AutoZone still had those on the shelf.

Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
Soooooo. LMC refunded ALL $ including shipping. I ordered from Amazon ( I’m a gluten for punishment) they too were exactly like the LMC Taiwan Junk
I just ordered from GMC Paul’s , his add says Made In USA Hope I learned my lesson |

Re: Taiwan Junk from LMC
LMC is a distributor of parts. They make nothing. You can change LMC to any name and have the same argument.
