Engine Removal ?

I need to remove the 350 from my 1966 GMC 4x4 Suburban. Would it be easier to unbolt from bell housing and clutch then remove engine only? The transmission is NP540.

I haven't pulled an engine from a 4x4, but I unbolted my 283 at the bellhousing and lifted it up and out. I left the flywheel and clutch assembly attached to the engine when I pulled it. Also put it back together that way.
Definitely helped having the hood off. I used the engine hoist to pull and reinstall the hood too

Throw a jack or two under the transmission for good measure though

Thank you. I'll go that route.

Did it that way and went well. Did not have to remove the hood but it was real close. Also removed the NP540 separately. Going to try and replace seals to stop all the leaks if I can find the parts.
