1967K10 front brake line kit

Hello Folks, I have a 67 K10 short bed with drum brakes and 292 engine.. I bought all the lines from Inline Tube and the rear lines work OK with some tweaking but the 6 lines that make up the front assembly do not work. Inline Tube did not want to listen to my problems so I then ordered what looked like to be the correct set from LMC only to find out that what they shipped me came from Inline tube and was the exact same set. I have no idea what this set works on but it does not work on this truck. Are there other companies that make brake lines?

And FWIW this truck came with absolutely no lines on it so I have nothing to copy-- and since it is a 67 K10 with 292 it is a bit of a rare truck. And I am guessing that it does not matter that the truck is a short bed stepside since I am only having problems with the front lines. I finally got the rear lines to work. Thanks for suggestions.

I think I sent back 2 front line kits for my 68 before I gave up. I believe they were 2wd lines mistakenly marketed as K10 sets. I ended up buying the stuff from Napa and making my own. I can take some pictures of how they are run if you end up going that direction.

I would definitely welcome any photos you can send especially if you have a 6 cylinder engine. I am not sure if that makes any difference, but right now i have nothing to go on.

Mine is a V8 but I'll get some pics for you in the morning. I'm about to pull the engine out so timing is good as far as having stuff out of the way.

I think I have come across a decent diagram of the routing somewhere as well. I'll look around.

Here are some pics of mine. It's a '68 LWB K10 with a V8 (manual brakes):

A good friend just ordered brake lines from Inline Tube for his 65 C10. It was a conversion to power brakes and they fit!

I was amazed and a little peeved as my Stainless Steel Lines had to be modified and adapted to fit my 70 C10. Mine were from another vendor though. I don't know the original manufacture. Your story is an old one as many have the same issue. Seems GM had different routeing for the same truck. Depending on the local the truck was made and the day of the week, I guess. If you purchased SS lines they are difficult to double flare. Especially without the correct, expensive tools. If you have steel lines and some patience I would modify them the best I could and call it good. Your are deep into the frustration phase of restoring these old trucks. At least it was for me.

I too have spoken with Inline Tube and they really are not interested in complaints on fitment. So many variants, that they likely get a lot of them, and are tone deaf for that reason.

I think you are right about inline tube being tone deaf. I just wish they would say something in their catalog that these things may not fit. But then no one would buy them.
